We spent two days on San Pedro after staying on Caye Caulker for four days. San Pedro was ok - it was much busier and crowded so we weren't too impressed. They did have some nice beaches and restaurants but we definitely liked Caye Caulker better. For some reason I wasn't in the mood to lug the Canon around so I took very few pictures here.
I took these photos in February 2017.
Sign found on a sidewalk electric box: "Welcome to the Belltown Open Air Drug Market. Meth, crack & heroin - discount prices. Open all night."
The Seattle neighborhood called "Belltown" was known for being a seedy crime-infested district up until the mid 1990s, when rising land values started bringing more development in and forcing the crackheads and drug dealers out.
Some people complain about this gentrification. Others complain it hasn't gone far enough.

The Corral Restaurant in Victoria,Texas. This one shoots a series of 6 flaming arrows at the building, with the final one igniting a neon flame on the restaurant's roof!
Advertising with these larg placards seems to all the range in Leeds this summer. Every where you turned there was someone advertising something or other.
Finally ate here after years of passing the restaurant on the cable cars. Excellent restaurant, but I was too full to try their "little pancakes" for dessert.

Deadwood, South Dakota; originally erected in the late 1940's or 1950's on top of the building housing a liquor store named The Spot, the sign pays tribute to "Tootsie the Singing Coyote" who was a pet of the store owner that could howl ("sing") with the music. The sign was restored in 2014 and even though the liquor store is long gone, was replaced in it's original location above Main Street in the historic district.

The interior is just as nifty.
ETA: now closed for good, sadly. AFAIK the place is intact for the moment.
For those of us that have ever imagined what it'd be like to just throw it wide open and see where it would take us...or at least, how quickly either
a) it would get us there, or
b) we freaked out and slowed down.
This spot on Congress Avenue in Chelsea was a longstanding home to the popular El Dorado Bakery until it was destroyed by fire in late 2013. The brick wall of the adjacent building was exposed once the charred remains were removed, revealing an amazing Pillsbury painted ghost sign which had been unseen for decades. (#92 of 100 in the Boston Signage Project)
What do you get if you hold the camera lens and rotate the camera? Some interesting results!

For decades Arthur Sparr owned and operated this drug store/medical supply shop/luncheonette around the corner from Boston's famous hospitals in the Longwood medical area. It was one of the few places on earth where you could shop for a stethoscope while waiting for your turkey club. He closed the business in 2002 and the building was eventually sold to Harvard Medical School. Luckily this high-quality ghost sign remains. (#90 of 100 in the Boston Signage Project)

This is the first picture in the set, "Pilgrimage to Chenango, August, 2000," consisting of snapshots I took when I last traveled there from California, to scatter my parents' ashes near the little house where I grew up from 1950 to 1965.
Pre Worboys road signs at Bridgnorth, 01.01.09- I gather the stripes along the top of each sign signified a main road...
I just got a kick out of this sign. It looks like those pedestrians are running for their lives! Well, sometimes crossing the street in Italy is a gamble...
