Signs — mostly for religion and food — at the busiest four-way stop in Calvert City, Kentucky. There have been signs here for decades. Not sure why — everyone in town knows where the only Catholic church, Presbyterian church, Chinese restaurant, grocery store, barbecue joint, chiropractor and costume jeweler are located. There are three baptist churches, I think, but they're still not difficult to tell apart.
In Hawaii, it's common for folks to make and display "No Spray" signs on their property to prevent government weed-control crews from spraying herbicide on their roadside plantings. I've shot photos of over 30 such signs so far, and I've only covered our neighborhood.

HOLLYWOODLAND was transformed into HOLLYWOOD in 1949 and replaced in 1978.
