… one month yes, and one no, my Provincial Health Authority of Messina sends me on a three-day mission (from Taormina) to the Civil Hospital of Lipari, located in via Sant'Anna…In my spare time, free from work commitments, I dedicate myself to my photographic passion; the photographs that I present here were all taken in the months of this year 2023; I made various photos according to the dictates of street photography (or street photography), I made some portraits, having always met people in the hand, very willing to let themselves be photographed (perhaps it will be ... that the people of the island are open-minded, eager and used to to communicate with strangers..?!), some portraits were made of people intent on their work; all the photos were taken in the city of Lipari, except for two taken in the port of Milazzo, the departure and arrival point of the hydrofoils (but there is also the ship) for the Aeolian Islands. I met (and photographed) the sweet lady, very good and appreciated American artist, Mrs Janette Little (photographed together with her affable and very nice husband, of Aeolian origins); of the talented artist mrs Janette in addition to her portrait I propose two of her works, I had noticed them some time ago, I had wanted to bring some photos of these works with me, now I propose them in black and white because this is a monochrome series, I note however that the originals are in color, for those wishing to see his works, I add the link to his web site below.

….un mese si, ed uno no, la mia Azienda Sanitaria Provinciale di Messina, mi manda in missione per tre giorni (da Taormina) all’Ospedale Civile di Lipari, situato in via Sant’Anna …Nei ritagli di tempo, libero dagli impegni di lavoro, mi dedico alla mia passione fotografica; le fotografie che qui presento sono state tutte realizzate nei mesi di quest’anno 2023; ho realizzato varie foto secondo i dettami della fotografia di strada (o street photography), ho realizzato alcuni ritratti, avendo incontrato sempre persone alla mano, molto disponibili nel lasciarsi fotografare (sarà forse…che la gente isolana è di mentalità aperta, desiderosa ed abituata a comunicare con gli estranei..?!), alcuni ritratti sono stati eseguiti a persone intente nei loro lavori; tutte le foto sono state realizzate nella città di Lipari, tranne due realizzate nel porto di Milazzo, scalo di partenza e di arrivo degli aliscafi (ma c’è anche la nave) per le isole Eolie. Ho conosciuto (e fotografato) la dolcissima signora, bravissima ed apprezzata artista, di origini americane mrs Janette Little (fotografata insieme al suo affabile e simpaticissimo marito, di origini eoliane); della bravissima artista mrs Janette oltre al suo ritratto propongo due sue lavori, li avevo notati tempo fa, avevo desiderato portare con me alcune foto di queste opere, adesso le propongo in bianco e nero perché questa è una serie in monocromia, faccio notare però che gli originali sono a colori, per chi desiderasse vedere i suoi lavori, aggiungo sotto il link al suo sito sul web.

Worcester è una città nel Worcestershire, Regno Unito. Il fiume Severn costeggia il lato occidentale del centro della città, su cui si affacciano Cattedrale di Worcester del 12esimo secolo. Fu costruita tra il 1084 e il 1504 e rappresenta ogni stile di architettura inglese dal normanno al gotico perpendicolare.

... every two months, my Provincial Health Authority of Messina (Sicily) sends me on a mission for three days (from Taormina) to the Civil Hospital of Lipari, located in via Saint Anne ... In my spare time, free from commitments of work, I dedicate myself to my photographic passion; the photographs I present here were all taken in February of this year 2022; I took photos according to the dictates of street photography, I made some portraits, having always met people in the hand and very willing to let themselves be photographed (maybe ... that the islanders are open-minded, eager and used to communicate with strangers ..?!), some portraits were made of people intent on their work, some fishermen were intent on repairing their nets, a lady showed me one of her beautiful work, a blanket she made with knitting needles , hanging on her balcony (it reminded me of the shawls my grandmother made, also made with hand knitting needles); all the photos were taken in the city of Lipari, except three, taken in the dark in the port of Milazzo, the port of departure and arrival with hydrofoils (but there is also the ship) for the Aeolian Islands.
….ogni due mesi, la mia Azienda Sanitaria Provinciale di Messina, mi manda in missione per tre giorni (da Taormina) all’Ospedale Civile di Lipari, situato in via Sant’Anna …Nei ritagli di tempo, libero dagli impegni di lavoro, mi dedico alla mia passione fotografica; le fotografie che qui presento sono state tutte realizzate nel mese di febbraio di quest’anno 2022; ho realizzato foto secondo i dettami della fotografia di strada (street photography), ho realizzato alcuni ritratti, avendo incontrato sempre persone alla mano e molto disponibili nel lasciarsi fotografare (sarà forse…che la gente isolana è di mentalità aperta, desiderosa ed abituata a comunicare con gli estranei..?!), alcuni ritratti sono stati eseguiti a persone intente nei loro lavori, alcuni pescatori erano intenti a riparare le loro reti, una signora mi ha mostrato un suo bellissimo lavoro, una coperta da lei realizzata coi ferri a maglia, appesa nel suo balcone (mi ricordava gli scialli che realizzava mia nonna, anch’essi realizzati coi ferri a mano); tutte le foto sono state realizzate nella città di Lipari, tranne tre, realizzate col buio nel porto di Milazzo, scalo di partenza e di arrivo con gli aliscafi (ma c’è anche la nave) per le isole Eolie.
Oggi sono stata a trovare la signora Lia che gestisce il rifugio per cani Agrilia a Ponte Pattoli (PG). Sicuramente ci tornerò perché i suoi cani sono bellissimi!

Regno Unito, Surrey, Hampton Court, Inverno 2022
Il palazzo reale di Hampton Court si trova nel distretto londinese di Richmond. Le modifiche apportate dal re Guglielmo III e il processo espansivo messo in atto dallo stesso re che intendeva rivaleggiare con il palazzo di Versailles lasciarono Hampton Court in due distinti e contrastanti stili, Tudor e Barocco. Insieme a St. James’s Palace questo è l’unico palazzo sopravvissuto tra quelli appartenuti ad Enrico VIII. Durante il regno di Enrico il palazzo fu testimone di numerosi e drammatici eventi storici. Forse è per questo motivo che si crede che il palazzo sia infestato da numerosi spiriti tra i quali la “signora urlante”, una delle mogli di Enrico che fu tascinata urlando nelle sue stanze in stato di arresto dopo essere stata accusata di adulterio e “Skeletor” una immagine molto particolare che apparse in una telecamera di sorveglianza nell’ottobre del 2003.
Hampton Court Palace is a royal palace in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Greater London. King William III's massive rebuilding and expansion project which intended to rival Versailles left the palace in two distinct contrasting architectural styles, domestic Tudor and Baroque. Along with St. James's Palace, it is one of only two surviving palaces out of the many owned by King Henry VIII. During the reign of King Henry VIII the palace was the scene of many historic and dramatic events. That’s why the palace is believed to be haunted by many ghosts like the screaming lady, one the the six King Henry’s wives who was dragged back screaming to her rooms while under house arrest, accused of committing adultery or ‘Skeletor’ a ghostly figure who appeared on a CCTV camera at the palace in October 2003.

All the photos I present were taken on the beaches of Taormina and its surroundings (Sicily-Italy); I made photos related to "beach photography" (a genre similar to "street photography");
I photographed on a beach a young lady who, leaning her smartphone against a paper bag, in order to self-portray, assumed statuesque and plastic poses for "artistics selfies"; … .I photographed a couple of lovers entwined with each other, regardless of everything that was around "their world"; ... I photographed young and old people ... with a great desire for the sea and a great desire to dive into the wather to swim (even if the sea water is still a little cold now ...); I made some photo-portraits of people I didn't know, I thank them very much for their sympathy and their availability; I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking along the beaches ... in search of fleeting moments ...
I used a particular photographic technique for some photographs at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production

Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate sulle spiagge di Taormina e dintorni (Sicilia-Italia); ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “beach photography” (un genere affine alla “street photography”);
ho fotografato su di una spiaggia una giovane signora che, appoggiato ad una busta di carta il suo smartphone, in modo da autoritrarsi, assumeva delle pose statuarie e plastiche da “selfie artistico”; ….ho fotografato una coppia di innamorati tra loro avvinghiati, incuranti di tutto ciò che stava attorno “al loro mondo”; …ho fotografato persone giovani e meno giovani…con tanta voglia di mare e tanta voglia di immergersi in acqua per fare qualche nuotata (anche se l’acqua del mare adesso è ancora un po’ fredda…); ho realizzato dei foto-ritratti di persone che non conoscevo, le ringrazio veramente tanto per la loro simpatia e la loro disponibilità; ho cercato di cogliere al volo l’essenza di storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando sulle spiagge... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.---------------------------------------------------------

Vernazza (Ligurian: Vernassa, locally Vernasa; Latin: Vulnetia) is a town and comune located in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northwestern Italy. It is one of the five towns that make up the Cinque Terre region. Vernazza is the fourth town heading north, has no car traffic, and remains one of the truest "fishing villages" on the Italian Riviera. It is the only natural port of Cinque Terre and is famous for its elegant houses.
Main sights:
Church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia, c. 1318. Unique for its east-facing entryway, it has a nave and two aisles, with an octagonal bell tower rising from the apse area, and is located in the town's main square Piazza Marconi.
Doria Castle - built in the 15th century as a lookout tower to protect the village from pirates.
Sanctuary of Madonna di Reggio Santuario di Nostra Signora di Reggio, about an hour's steep walk above Vernazza. The path that leads up to the sanctuary is punctuated with the Stations of the Cross. The surrounding property of the sanctuary contains a large shady open area, expansive views of the hillside vineyards and coast.
Chapel of Santa Marta, tiny stone chapel along Vernazza's main street, Via Roma. Mass celebrated on special Sundays.
Vernazza's beach is off Piazza Marconi, within the protected harbour on the northwestern side.

Regno Unito, Northumberland, Bamburgh Castle, Inverno 2017
Il castello di Bamburgh si trova a Bamburgh, sulle coste del Northumberland, in Inghilterra. La posizione era probibilmente la sede di un precedente forte dei Britanni. I Normanni costruirono un nuovo castello sul sito, che costituisce il nucleo di quella attuale. Nel 1464 durante la Guerra delle Rose, è diventato il primo castello in Inghilterra per essere sconfitto dall’artiglieria. Il castello è stato utilizzato come location cinematografica dagli anni ‘20, in film come Ivanhoe (1982), El Cid (1961), Maria Stuarda (1971), Elizabeth (1998) e per gli adattamenti del Macbeth del 1971 e 2015.
C'è un famoso racconto qui, la signora in rosa del castello di Bamburgh. Questa era una principessa della Northumbria e si innamorò di un ragazzo, che suo padre disapprovava a tal punto da spedirlo all'estero per sette anni.
La ragazza era sempre più disperata per questa lontananza e suo padre, in un ultimo tentativo di risolvere il problema, le disse che le sue spie avevano scoperto che il ragazzo si era sposato, mentre di stanza all'estero. Per tirarle su il morale dopo questa notizia fece confezionare alla sarta del castello un abito in colore preferito della ragazza; rosa. La ragazza vestita nella sua nuova veste, salì allora sulla parte più alta del merli del castello e si gettò giù sulle rocce sottostanti. Poco dopo il ragazzo tornò dall'estero, celibe, naturalmente. Ogni sette anni, si suppone che lo spettro, nel suo bel vestito rosa vaghi per le parti più antiche del castello, prima di scivolare lungo il sentiero roccioso fino alla spiaggia, dove si guarda tristemente verso il mare, in attesa del ritorno del suo amore perduto.
Bamburgh Castle is located on the coast at Bamburgh, Northumberland, England. The location was previously home to a fort of the native Britons
The Normans built a new castle on the site, which forms the core of the present one. In 1464 during the Wars of the Roses, it became the first castle in England to be defeated by artillery. The castle has been used as a film location since the 1920s, featuring in films such as Ivanhoe (1982), El Cid (1961), Mary, Queen of Scots (1971), Elizabeth (1998) and both the 1971 and 2015 adaptions of Macbeth.
There is a famous tale here, the Pink Lady of Bamburgh Castle. She was a Northumbrian princess and she fell in love with a boy, whom her father disapproved of so sent him overseas for seven years.
The girl became more and more downhearted at this separation and in a final attempt to resolve the issue, her father told her that his spies had discovered that the boy had married someone else whilst stationed abroad and that, to cheer her up after this news, the castle seamstress would fashion a dress in the girl’s favourite colour; pink. The girl dressed in her new garment, climbed to the highest part of the castle’s battlements and flung herself down onto the rocks below.
A little while later the boy returned from his station abroad. Unmarried, of course.
Every seven years the process, in her beautiful pink gown is supposed to wander the oldest parts of the castle, before gliding down the rocky path to the beach, where she mournfully gazes out to sea. Awaiting the return of her lost love.

Caerphilly è un enorme castello medievale, ben conservato e con un grande fossato che domina il centro della città di Caerphilly, nel sud del Galles. E' il più grande castello nel Galles e il secondo più grande in Gran Bretagna dopo quello di Windsor. Costruito tra il 1268 e il 1271, è uno dei primi esempi di castello concentrico con difese d'acqua. La leggenda narra come il castello ospiti uno spirito inquieto. Leggende dicono che sia lo spirito di Alice de la Marche di Angouleme, in Francia, nipote di Enrico II, e l'amante di un cavaliere di nome Gruffydd the Fair. E' morta di crepacuore dopo che questi era stato impiccato dal marito, Gilbert de Clare, conte di Gloucester, che era signore del castello. La gente del posto dice che nelle notti di luna ella appare sui muri alla ricerca per il suo amore perduto. È conosciuta come "la Signora Verde", forse per l'edera che ricopre le mura del castello o forse veste di verde per l’invidia del marito.
Caerphilly is a huge castle, well preserved with fascinating water defences. It is a medieval castle that dominates the centre of the town of Caerphilly in south Wales. It is the largest castle in Wales and the second largest in Britain after Windsor Castle. Built mainly between 1268 and 1271, it is an early example of a concentric castle with extensive water defences.
The castle is home to a restless spirit. Legends say she is the spirit of Alice de la Marche of Angouleme, France, niece of Henry II, and the disgraced lover of a knight named Gruffydd the Fair. She died of a broken heart after he was hanged by her husband, Gilbert de Clare, Earl of Gloucester, who was lord of the castle. Locals say that on moonlit nights she appears on the walls searching for her lost love. She is known as “the Green Lady”, perhaps because of the ivy that spills over the castle walls, or maybe she wears green because of her husband’s envy.

... every two months, my Provincial Health Authority of Messina (Sicily) sends me on a mission for three days (from Taormina) to the Civil Hospital of Lipari, located in via Saint Anne ... In my spare time, free from commitments of work, I dedicate myself to my photographic passion; the photographs I present here were all taken in February of this year 2022; I took photos according to the dictates of street photography, I made some portraits, having always met people in the hand and very willing to let themselves be photographed (maybe ... that the islanders are open-minded, eager and used to communicate with strangers ..?!), some portraits were made of people intent on their work, some fishermen were intent on repairing their nets, a lady showed me one of her beautiful work, a blanket she made with knitting needles , hanging on her balcony (it reminded me of the shawls my grandmother made, also made with hand knitting needles); all the photos were taken in the city of Lipari, except three, taken in the dark in the port of Milazzo, the port of departure and arrival with hydrofoils (but there is also the ship) for the Aeolian Islands.
….ogni due mesi, la mia Azienda Sanitaria Provinciale di Messina, mi manda in missione per tre giorni (da Taormina) all’Ospedale Civile di Lipari, situato in via Sant’Anna …Nei ritagli di tempo, libero dagli impegni di lavoro, mi dedico alla mia passione fotografica; le fotografie che qui presento sono state tutte realizzate nel mese di febbraio di quest’anno 2022; ho realizzato foto secondo i dettami della fotografia di strada (street photography), ho realizzato alcuni ritratti, avendo incontrato sempre persone alla mano e molto disponibili nel lasciarsi fotografare (sarà forse…che la gente isolana è di mentalità aperta, desiderosa ed abituata a comunicare con gli estranei..?!), alcuni ritratti sono stati eseguiti a persone intente nei loro lavori, alcuni pescatori erano intenti a riparare le loro reti, una signora mi ha mostrato un suo bellissimo lavoro, una coperta da lei realizzata coi ferri a maglia, appesa nel suo balcone (mi ricordava gli scialli che realizzava mia nonna, anch’essi realizzati coi ferri a mano); tutte le foto sono state realizzate nella città di Lipari, tranne tre, realizzate col buio nel porto di Milazzo, scalo di partenza e di arrivo con gli aliscafi (ma c’è anche la nave) per le isole Eolie.

… one month yes, and one no, my Provincial Health Authority of Messina sends me on a three-day mission (from Taormina) to the Civil Hospital of Lipari, located in via Sant'Anna…In my spare time, free from work commitments, I dedicate myself to my photographic passion; the photographs that I present here were all taken in the months of this year 2023; I made various photos according to the dictates of street photography (or street photography), I made some portraits, having always met people in the hand, very willing to let themselves be photographed (perhaps it will be ... that the people of the island are open-minded, eager and used to to communicate with strangers..?!), some portraits were made of people intent on their work; all the photos were taken in the city of Lipari, except for two taken in the port of Milazzo, the departure and arrival point of the hydrofoils (but there is also the ship) for the Aeolian Islands. I met (and photographed) the sweet lady, very good and appreciated American artist, Mrs Janette Little (photographed together with her affable and very nice husband, of Aeolian origins); of the talented artist mrs Janette in addition to her portrait I propose two of her works, I had noticed them some time ago, I had wanted to bring some photos of these works with me, now I propose them in black and white because this is a monochrome series, I note however that the originals are in color, for those wishing to see his works, I add the link to his web site below.

Ho conosciuto (e fotografato) la dolcissima signora, bravissima ed apprezzata artista, di origini americane mrs Janette Little (fotografata insieme al suo affabile e simpaticissimo marito, di origini eoliane); della bravissima artista mrs Janette oltre al suo ritratto propongo due sue lavori, li avevo notati tempo fa, avevo desiderato portare con me alcune foto di queste opere, adesso le propongo in bianco e nero perché questa è una serie in monocromia, faccio notare però che gli originali sono a colori, per chi desiderasse vedere i suoi lavori, aggiungo sotto il link al suo sito sul web.

Il palazzo reale di Hampton Court si trova nel distretto londinese di Richmond. Le modifiche apportate dal re Guglielmo III e il processo espansivo messo in atto dallo stesso re che intendeva rivaleggiare con il palazzo di Versailles lasciarono Hampton Court in due distinti e contrastanti stili, Tudor e Barocco. Insieme a St. James’s Palace questo è l’unico palazzo sopravvissuto tra quelli appartenuti ad Enrico VIII. Durante il regno di Enrico il palazzo fu testimone di numerosi e drammatici eventi storici. Forse è per questo motivo che si crede che il palazzo sia infestato da numerosi spiriti tra i quali la “signora urlante”, una delle mogli di Enrico che fu tascinata urlando nelle sue stanze in stato di arresto dopo essere stata accusata di adulterio e “Skeletor” una immagine molto particolare che apparse in una telecamera di sorveglianza nell’ottobre del 2003.
Hampton Court Palace is a royal palace in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Greater London. King William III's massive rebuilding and expansion project which intended to rival Versailles left the palace in two distinct contrasting architectural styles, domestic Tudor and Baroque. Along with St. James's Palace, it is one of only two surviving palaces out of the many owned by King Henry VIII. During the reign of King Henry VIII the palace was the scene of many historic and dramatic events. That’s why the palace is believed to be haunted by many ghosts like the screaming lady, one the the six King Henry’s wives who was dragged back screaming to her rooms while under house arrest, accused of committing adultery or ‘Skeletor’ a ghostly figure who appeared on a CCTV camera at the palace in October 2003.
