As part of our ongoing procedures, ISO qualifications and ecodentials we of course undergo regular audits and assessments to meet the high standards required from the BSI to qualify for the ISO certifications. Brian from BSI has just completed our ISO Audit for the ISO 9001 accreditation and is photographed here discussing the procedures and processes in place within the Marketing department with Shelley, Roman's Marketing Manager.

Project 252 - A Year at Roman
While travelling to an appointment in London today, Roman's Managing Director, David Osborne, captured a photo for 252 of two statues at the entrance to Bush House which is situated in Aldwych.
At the main entrance there are two towering figures above the pillars, that make a striking resemblance to Roman statues, however we've learned they are in fact two male statues symbolising an Anglo American friendship and were sculpted by Malvina Hoffman. As a worldwide company we can appreciate the importance of Bush House has it used to be home to BBC World Services until July this year.

Project 252 - A Year at Roman
Today’s picture was sent in by our Roman Asia division based in Kuala Lumpur. It shows a stunning bespoke version of our Sculptures Hinged Door Enclosure with Inline Panels, which is 2.4m high, installed in a luxury housing development in Malaysia. The enclosure features indulgent 10mm thick glass. Our Bespoke Service allows us the opportunity to work on a variety of projects overseas, where developers are looking to install a totally unique showering solution to suit their individual specification.

To make sure we can build any product that is requested of us from customers, suppliers, designers, project specification orders and showrooms we keep all our parts in stock on site. Today's 252 photo comes from one of our dozens of racks in our stock warehouse of profile pieces.
As seen in the photograph one of the warehouse team has already selected a range of specific profiles off the shelves required to enable the construction of orders this afternoon for one of our many production lines.

Roman and Roman at Home were proud to donate a raffle gift to DISC for their Fashion Show held this month to DISC representative, Rachel. DISC is an independent North England based charity that is designed to help people make the changes that will enable them to live independent and fulfilling lives.
As photographed for Project 252, the fashion show was a great success supported by local and national companies. In total they raised £703 on the night through ticket sales and prizes. The monies raised on the evening is going to be spent on a range of services in the area including a Donation to a Homeless Charity, Young People with Learning Disabilities Youth Group, Residential activities for GOALS service users and bowling activity to give Young Adults Carers a break from their caring role.

Today was an exciting day at Roman HQ, we played host to BBC News. The GDP figures were due to be announced this morning, and the BBC News team were out filming in different businesses, to find out their reactions to the figures. As a British manufacturer, Roman was selected as one of the locations and our Chairman, Gerry Osborne, stepped forward as the interviewee. Here we see BBC News presenter Nick Ravenscroft interviewing Gerry on the main factory floor. Gerry commented in particular on our involvement in the Made in Britain campaign and how British manufacturing, along with buying British, is so important to the UK economy.

Some of the Roman team are attending the Bathroom Manufacturer’s Association (BMA) Conference this week. It is the annual must attend event for the industry. Shelley, our Marketing Manager and David, our MD, are there today for the Fringe event Marketing Workshop. The theme for the workshop is ‘Making Life Easier’. Speakers include; well respected Occupational Therapist, Kate Sheehan and Hotel Design Consultant, Patrick Goff; amongst others. Photographed today for 252 is AMA Research talking about care homes in reference to the Bathroom Industry. David closes the meeting with a round-up and question opportunity, in his other role as BMA Vice President and Marketing Chairman.

Our Head of Graphics, Sue, is lucky enough to be at the Olympic Stadium in London for this morning's Paralympic Athletic heats, finals and victory ceremonies. This photo is the start (top) and finish (bottom) of Paralympics GB's Richard Whitehead in the 100m T 42 heats. Richard has qualified for the final, with a PB time of 12.97 seconds.

Last night we captured a photo of Linda with the abundance of Royal Mail sacks ready to be collected by our regular Postie. Roman at Home are responsible for the lions share of the sacks in the photograph, a mere 15 bags of orders placed on Thursday that will be despatch via Royal Mail alongside our 3 pallets of larger size items going via our Courier company. The orders include a wealth of items including Christmas Table Linen, Accessories and Gifts for the festive season.
