Our area North West Area Sales Manager, Leon, was visiting the newly upgraded Roman display area in Warwick Plumbing in Chadderton and snapped a photo with Michael from the Warwick Plumbing team. A new ceiling has been installed and displays updated in the showroom.

Project 252 - A Year at Roman
Roman’s Head of Graphics, Sue, visited the Antiques Roadshow when it came to Fountains Abbey, Ripon. She took along some old family documents which dated back to the 1700s. Whilst there she took some covert snaps of Fiona Bruce, whilst she was being touched up by the hair and make-up team. As you can see there was a massive turn out for the day and the sun made an appearance.

Project 252 - A Year at Roman
Roman have once again helped out a family in need through primetime home renovation programme Cowboy Builders. Roman helped out a family in Milton Keynes whose home had been left in disrepair after they were left in the lurch by cowboy builders. The family needed an easy access bathroom which would be suitable for the mum, who suffers with degenerative spinal arthritis. We stepped in and supplied our Sculptures Corner Panel, our Roman Shield Complete Wetroom Tanking Kit, one of our indulgent Multi-Function Shower Heads, a Shower Basket and our Shower Blade.
Today’s picture shows presenter Melinda Messenger with our Retail Development Manager, David Acheson (right) and PHS, Milton Keynes’ Showroom Manager, Chris (left), and below the film crew getting ready. Melinda paid a visit to Roman retailer PHS, which is local showroom for the family. Like us, they kindly donated some products for the bathroom.

Project 252 - A Year at Roman
Roman welcomed a freelance journalist yesterday who visited us for a factory tour. David Bridle joined us on behalf of EKB Business and was taken around the factory, through production, the solid surface tray manufacturing facility, round customer services and into the showroom to see the finished products. As a trade journalist, David was particularly interested in our manufacturing process. We finished the tour with coffee and a presentation, and of course a pic for 252. Thanks to David who made the trip all the way from Essex to the North East. He also visited our neighbours over at PWS to see their site whilst he was up in the area.

Roman sponsored Barnard Castle School first XV on their recent unbeaten rugby tour to Spain & Portugal. (From left) Julian, Mike and David are all former pupils and all veterans of the Rugby team. Slightly more famous Rugby Alumni are Rory & Tony Underwood, Rob Andrew, Mathew & Alex Tait, Lee & Karl Dickson, Calum Clark and Tim Visser. More than a dozen former pupils are currently playing professional Rugby Union.

Project 252 - A Year at Roman
Last night's episode of Half Built House featured several products from our sister company, Roman at Home (www.romanathome.com). The makeover was part of a house-wide makeover by Sian Astley and the Half Built House team to rebuild a home that teacher Claire's DIY efforts had made unliveable, with no Kitchen of Bathroom.
The makeover bathroom featured the following products:

Project 252 - A Year at Roman
Roman's Managing Director, David Osborne, and Export Manager, Angela, arrived in Dubai this weekend to visit a selection of retailers, contract projects and ongoing and completed hotel installations. They managed to take a few photos for today's 252 photograph of the amazing architecture in Dubai.
The top is of the 5 Star Jumeriah Beach Hotel with its distinctive sail shape design and the bottom photograph is the Rose Tower (Rose Rayhaan by Rotana) which currently holds the title of 10th tallest building in Dubai.

Project 252 - A Year at Roman
Roman are set to launch a true industry first with the first ever ‘cordless’ showerhead. Their new wetroom panel features 10mm thick glass with a series of microscopic internal cavities, which feed the water up to the showerhead. The glass sits into a special pressurised U channel which is built into the tiles and feeds the series of needle-like water jets into the glass. The glass retains a flawless visual effect as the water flows, due to the microscopic nature of the cavities.
Managing Director David Osborne, said “the idea for this new wetroom panel came during a ‘blue sky’ R&D meeting where we all became side-tracked discussing Wonka-vision and Mike TV, but it has slowly but surely transferred itself into a ground-breaking new product.”
Creating the April Fools
The photograph pictured is our Sculptures Wet Linear Panel with the shower head of a previous shower valve super imposed onto the product.
We had to remove out the pipe work, reflections and 're-create' part of the white chair and towel bale.
Then finally adding in water and steam to create the final part of the illusion.
