Shadow of my hand holding my glasses.

The Shadow Legionnaire is a long-running and successful racer. She may not look like much, but she's got some power under the hood. She excels on the straightaways.

The small images are a little more visible when viewed large.

First idea that came to mind for the potd was to get a shadow of the wheels on my bike. My idea didn't really translate to the camera. This one was my favorite of the bunch.

A sculpture by Steinunn Þórarinsdóttir called Skuggar (Shadows). The moon was full that night and casted a beautiful light on the sculpture, located at Suðurströnd, Seltjarnarnes in Iceland.

The work is composed of two aluminum figures who lean closely towards one another, but just short of touching. This is a running theme throughout her work: “Fundamentally, we are all alone,” she reflects. It’s not a matter of loneliness, but of independence. After a morning in the woods, we spent the afternoon on the beach - miles and miles of sand and a snaking creek with masses of birds on the sand.

4.50pm in Saigon, Vietnam.

This one has a story behind it. I usually pose in a very specific way for my self portraits but this time I decided to use the self timer. I was waiting for it to go off, I was looking for something I wanted this picture to show. I am working around my shadow self and that's the exact thought I had on the exact moment when I looked in the lens and the picture was taken. Now you see me looking at my shadow self, scared as I should be. Very fascinating way to see myself in this light.
