Sonnet XVII (100 Love Sonnets, 1960)
I don't love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as certain dark things are loved,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that doesn't bloom and carries
hidden within itself the light of those flowers,
and thanks to your love, darkly in my body
lives the dense fragrance that rises from the earth.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simply, without problems or pride:
I love you in this way because I don't know any other way of loving
but this, in which there is no I or you,
so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand,
so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close.
This is part of a 40-yard walkway, with Ionic columns on either side and a series of parallel wood beams above. Shortly after noon, I captured the shadow cast by the beams. I briefly considered cropping out the columns and vertical shadow on the right side, but decided to leave them in. The result of this effort should definitely be an eye-catcher!

The colours of the picture are edited. But the shadow isn't. I was playing with my light and then I got this result.

You could be forgiven for thinking it's actually pixelated. :-)

I liked the perspective and angle, i hesitated to do a monochrome but decided against the idea.. :-)

A crisp start to the day, but the sun is brightly shining.

I'm sorry I have fallen a little bit behind with most of your photo streams. I think I shall be able to catch up over the next day or two, so bear with me!
