Photographs have the ability to endow commonplace objects with significance which they do not possess in reality.
I came upon this long winding fence set up in the middle of a vast field. At first I could not picture it having any special photographic offerings. I noticed the clouds and took some shots trying to avoid lens flare. But why not use that beautiful sun as the main character instead of ignoring it?
That's when the fence gave me it's true beauty; a rhythm of angles created by it's slats and it's shadow across the entire photo field from corner to corner at various distances, playing off the positive and negative spaces against one another...
In the shadows and light of the garden a Eurasian-collared Dove (Streptopelia decaocto) quietly feeds on the seeds dropped by the other birds at a feeder.

Mind you, the phone hes using is very good and he doesnt have a lot of free time to take pics.
The song is one of my favourites and thankfully me, my kids and grandkids always have time for each other so we are very lucky!

HMM-- the theme for today, 7/15, is "patterns in nature" and this is one possibility for posting :) i think this one is my favorite of the five :) so this is a sentimental choice :)
normally her longest whisker is almost 3 inches but she had turned her head to see what i was doing, so curved they all fell well within the 3 inch parameters!!
For the Macro Mondays theme "Shadow". This is the shadow cast by shining a mobile phone LED light through a measuring/marking tool (essentially a perforated metal sheet). The 4 rows of staggered dots allow you to mark to a precision of 1/64th off an inch. The vertical size of the frame is more than 2 inches and well less than 3. HMM!
There is no light without shadow.
Shadows of stamen inside the Amaryllis.
