Finally finished. Redid the sleeves, requiring reattaching the lining to fabric in the sleeve area.

Front view after the top was shortened. I still could take out some fullness in the front at the waist. I retraced the front pattern and used a different FBA method on that pattern piece. Will be cutting out the new top tomorrow.

DIY: Polka-dot dress, pattern 104 from Burda 2/2011

The pile of vintage-full projects I made at the Dottie Angel workshop a few weeks ago, waiting for a sunny day to be photographed & worn & hung up around my home. :) For now, they keep my desk cheery!

You can see I set the zipper a little low. Hook and eye closure will help with this.

I made the hoodie in September, my first attempt at sewing with stretch fabric. This photo was taken by my daughter while I was away. He's still wearing it in January, and it hasn't fallen apart.

A more detailed shot of the Square Bear I made for my friend.

I'm posting some fashion shoots so I can show my mother-in-law the outcomes of this summer's self-taught sewing course...

to be made for a little boy...

Here are the beginning of the owl in progress. He doesn't look like much yet, but once he's stuffed he really starts to look bird-like.

Inspired by This portrait from (apparently) 1570-1575. (Which you can see in the photo) I modified a doublet pattern to include the skirt and here you see it cut out of Melton Cloth (wool)and the lines I drew for the pinking.

There was a lot of hyperventalating before I started cutting those let me tell you. - Althea Tambourri, Montengarde, An Tir

Russian Street style: flower boom. More on blog stacyco.com

This beautiful skirt was inspired by an over priced J. Crew tulle skirt. I made a prototype in créme with vintage fabric and this is the second one with much improvement. It features a back hidden zipper and hook-and-eyelet security closure. It is fully lined, hand hemmed, and has a velvet ribbon waist lining.
