We began our process by cutting out all our pattern pieces to form the bodies and wings of our birds, as instructed in Abby's book.
This project was a nightmare from start to finish. It started with the removal of this awful poly/paper material over the wooden frame.
My day started with making myself a light, summer skirt. This fabric was so smooth and soft, and doesn't wrinkle a lot, which is great for work!
so i worked out some rough pattern pieces and got to work ... can you guess from these cut pieces what I'm making for the boys? there are enough parts here for two and I'm making them side by side.
Needlecase made from the instructions in the Sew Retro book by Judi Ketteler.
I always like needlecases and huswifes, in my opinion you can never have too many of these! Always handy to have one with each project you are working on. Book Review on my blog - www.sewing-box.net

This beautiful skirt was inspired by an over priced J. Crew tulle skirt. I made a prototype in créme with vintage fabric and this is the second one with much improvement. It features a back hidden zipper and hook-and-eyelet security closure. It is fully lined, hand hemmed, and has a velvet ribbon waist lining.
