Kown is a type of food crop of Bangladesh, produced specially for various sweet delicacies.
The river islands are so fertile that everything grows lavishly on them, with out much effort.
We decided to take our children to kown fields, so that they can really see how crops are produced in the fields. Being brought up in a totally urban setting, it was their really first such nature trip but I really could not guess that they would enjoy the trip so much.

Well, I know it is not practically possible to hug the Sun, unless you intend to get burnt down by it. but the evening sun is just so pretty and amazing. It adds so much beauty, so many colors to the surrounding that I just love the Sun at that moment.
While in Mussoorie, we went to this special place called the Clouds End, which had some really fantastic views of the hills and of course the sunset. My wife got really excited at the setting and here she is trying to taking in all the beauty that this moment had to offer.

A trip to Hotel Catalina on Playa la Ropa comes with some spectacular sunsets when the cloud cover is cooperating. This is not at its best but there has to be one in the collection.
Beautiful Hackett's Cove, Taken the same night as My Peggy's Cove Sunset shot, the light changed so quickly from this to that extraordinary red glow.If you are ever passing, check out the Finer Diner, always a favourite of mine to enjoy a bite to eat. Nothing fancy, just good food.

I thought I was late & had missed the sunset. The sun behind the mountains still gave me a stunning view of the mountain tip & the clouds above.

I remember thinking when I took these sunset silhouettes that it was a shame it didn't feature a young, trendy couple but on reflection I like it more now, it's somehow less cliched and more meaningful.
The clouds rolling in for Thanksgiving weekend made for some cool pictures once the sun started setting.
We will remember them.
Remembrance Sunday 2017.
I have the utmost respect for those that have have given their lives for freedom and in some respects I should not maybe post the account that follows, but time restraints the rest of the week prevents my writing in detail.
So, this is the ‘final’ photo that I shot this day and I will go on now to explain the disaster and learning point. I’ve had my work appraisal this week and between that and how busy work is generally I’ve not had time to write up my Flickr appraisal learning point.
As some of you might be aware we had gone away last weekend for the end of the children’s half term holiday. I knew on the Wednesday night that the battery was low, but that I had Thursday morning to charge it up, which I duly did ( amidst the various other things a wife does when she has a morning off and knows the family are going away that afternoon). So, slotted the battery into the charger, plugged the charger into the mains turned main, observed that the light was doing it’s single pulse thing that it does when it is pretty flat and off I went to deal with the washing ( it is obviously my other obsession ;) ) and left it without further thought.
On returning a while later the light was still pulsing away and hadn’t turned the green that it is supposed to, but as there were other things to be done I thought that it was still going. Anyway, it got to leaving time and it was still not charged! By this time it really had plenty of time and as we were about to leave the house I just unplugged the charger and took the battery and away to go. What a fool I was! As by that evening the battery was flashing low on my camera and I didn’t fully understand it, was it that it was cold? Was it that the battery’s life was on its way out?
Anyway that evenings sunset was evidently developing into one of those that you want to savour and enjoy, so out I went, caught the bad hair day tree in front of the setting sun and the distant copse of trees ( yet to appear), all as the hors d’oeuvres to the setting sun or so I thought. As I took this one the camera clunked and then shut down. My heart sank, tried again turned the camera on, clunk turned off. Turned the camera on again, no juice.
I was so disappointed and made worse by the fact that the sun and clouds then proceeded to produce a wonderful display of true brilliance. When I got home I checked the charger, I had not made sure that the connection between the lead and the actual charging unit was secure!
Lessons for my appraisal? Always check kit, fully, if you’ve go the space to take the charger take it and consider buying a second battery. All lessons that you hardened pros know I know, but newbie that I am just learnt the hard way!

When it is winter, the Lake Suwa freezes entirely.
Takeminakata-no Mikoto walks to the opposite bank to meet Yasakatome-no Mikoto .
He chops a footprint on the surface of the ice.
The Japanese calls it is OMIWATARI.
The ice was height 1m in old days.
Unfortunately it is unusual that he meets her by global warming.
