I really must get out more. My photography has taken a bit of a back seat since starting a new job earlier this.

Anyway it was good to get out. A bit difficult to control the light levels with a very bright horizon, but the sea was playing ball.

Catching these wonderful statues in different light is something i am planning in 2014, the detail on the statue is highlighted by the nice light shining from the extreme right

It's Going Down Quickly Now

Driving home from a walk we stopped to watch the sun setting & the mist gathering in the valley.

After receiving a severe thunderstorm warning on my phone, I decided to take a chance and see what the advancing weather might give me. Luck had it and the unexpected happened. The storm front rolled in and reacted with the setting sun - the golden light from the setting sun changed the sky into a glowing burst of color, just an amazing cloud feature. A reward that exceeded my wildest expectations.

Sunset from East Pier, Dunlaoghaire, Dublin, Ireland

After another blue sky day, I headed to Dunlaoghaire East Pier for a nice sunset.

I had camera on my Manfrotto 190 Tripod and set on Manual.

Our Italian adventure is almost over for another year. So having a meal in the hills above Sorrento I snapped this amazing sunset over the Island of Ischia the other side of the Bay of Naples.

The sun begins it's journey downward at late afternoon on a Chilly January Day. Three exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2

Took a trip down (or up from Norwich) to Morston. Primarily to shoot boats, but that didn't go so well.....I fell over and got drenched with thick black mud (it was not elegant). But other than that it was a really nice evening.

On my way home from work earlier and a brief gap in the clouds allowed the setting sun shine on these trees. Lucky that i had my camera in the car. What a contrast the trees and clouds are.

After the wild flurry of yellow the previous evening, I changed lenses to see if I could capture just one without smashing others on the ground. Darn elbow tripod.

For a size reference, you might look at the first comment. This is smaller than an unopened poppy bud, less than .75 in/ 1.91 cm wide open just now in the bright sun.
