the free vintage bus service was available at the west end festival from Victoria Park- Kelvingrove Park - Botanic Gardens
This long time abandoned service station is on the former A12 old Roman Road at Margaretting in Essex (UK).
The main road was bypassed here in around 1970 when I suspect trade would have rapidly declined but as far as I know it soldiered on into the 1980s. It briefly reopened as a hand car wash, but has been abandoned now for some considerable time.
Brought into service to replace sister loco No.69 in for boiler washout, Ol49-59 is receiving lubrication and adjustments at the shed prior to moving off to take the afternoon service to Leszno on Monday 13th January 2014.

Landowner Larry Brown has been working with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) District Conservationist John Wagoner (cowboy hat) to create a site-specific conservation plan that includes a pollinator habitat enhancement plan to address the improvement, restoration, enhancement, or expansion of flower-rich habitat that supports native and/or managed pollinators with the use of tree/shrub establishment and fence practices at his property just south of Ennis, Montana, on August 29, 2019. As Mobil is leaving the Australian Fuel Market, many OTR (former Mobil) service stations are constantly being fashioned into other popular brands like BP over here for example.
Even though the colours still mismatch the car wash brushes which were blue for Mobil, older BP locations had green brushes which are now extinct in South Australia (the last Ryko Ultra Clean with those was in Hectorville, replaced with Softgloss Maxx with mismatching red/yellow brushes in 2013). >_<

LAS solo motorcycle seen well off it's usual patch in Reading town centre. It was providing medical support to the March for Honour Team, a group of soldiers, sailors and airmen marching 200 miles to London in order to raise money for injured servicemen - 10.11.10
FirstEnergy expects to invest about $371 million in 2017 on distribution and transmission infrastructure projects to help enhance reliability for customers in the Ohio Edison service territory. Major projects scheduled include building new substations and transmission lines, installing equipment in existing substations, adding remote control equipment on circuits, and the inspection and replacement of utility poles.
Pictured: Similar work was completed last year, including installing large transformers and breakers at a substation in West Akron and rebuilding a 69-kilovolt transmission line in the Medina area.

Earlier today, 11 November 2022, Greater Manchester Police's Chief Constable Stephen Watson was joined by Baroness Bev Hughes, Deputy Mayor for Policing, Crime, Criminal Justice and Fire, and family members of fallen colleagues for a remembrance service at Sedgley Park.
All those in attendance proudly stood together to remember colleagues who sadly lost their lives in the line of duty and all others who have died during conflicts throughout history.

While going through old photos. I came across this one of an old service station... I thought it was a cool building.
In May, bog conservationists from Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia convened in the north Georgia mountains for the spring, 2014 meeting of the Bog Learning Network. The event provided an opportunity for biologists to see, first hand, the result of management efforts at two north Georgia bogs. More importantly, the outings provided an opportunity to share innovative approaches to bog management, such as the role of the Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance in conserving rare plants and coordinating a cadre of volunteers to work on bog management.
The Bog Learning Network was convened in the winter of 2013 as a way to bring together people working for bog conservation across the Southern Appalachians. Southern Appalachian bogs are one of North America’s rarest habitats and home to many rare plants and animals.
