This long time abandoned service station is on the former A12 old Roman Road at Margaretting in Essex (UK).
The main road was bypassed here in around 1970 when I suspect trade would have rapidly declined but as far as I know it soldiered on into the 1980s. It briefly reopened as a hand car wash, but has been abandoned now for some considerable time.
Brought into service to replace sister loco No.69 in for boiler washout, Ol49-59 is receiving lubrication and adjustments at the shed prior to moving off to take the afternoon service to Leszno on Monday 13th January 2014.

Devon General's first batch of 25 Snoopies carried a red and silver livery shown here by 775 (D775 NDV) in Exmouth in February, 1988. Others of the batch were used at Teignmouth and Newton Abbot.
Reading Buses placed its latest batch of new buses into service on routes 5, 6 & 6a on Sunday 10th May. The routes were rebranded as "Emerald" from the same date, and the rebranding was extended to bus stops along the route - although not to the circular discs which publicise the special £1.60 single fare on these routes (which suggests it might be revised soon!). This is the inbound stop at the Holiday Inn (the former Post House Hotel) on Basingstoke Road on Monday 11th May.
Route 9a is a late-night variant of route 9, which runs back into Central Reading via Basingstoke Road and Kennet Island instead of Shinfield Road. These journeys were introduced during service revisions in September 2014, when the separate N-prefix numbers for NightTrack services were abolished and the journeys incorporated into the main network.
UPDATE: In August 2015 Stagecoach-operated routes 72 and 82 were renumbered 7 and 8 respectively - although Reading Buses still uses the numbers 82 and 82k for its evening and Sunday journeys. Routes 5 and 6 gained 24-hour service from the same time, but the 9a journeys were withdrawn due to low passenger numbers.

Reading Buses' latest deliveries are sixteen brand-new ADL Enviro400 MMC (fleet nos 759-774) which entered service on Sunday 10th May. They follow on from similar 751-758 which were delivered last year for claret route 21.
Fifteen of the new buses are in a new two-tone green livery (759 is in generic livery) and have been used to upgrade South Reading routes 5 (Reading Station-Northumberland Avenue) and 6/6a (Reading Station - Whitley Wood or Tesco Distribution Depot); these routes were rebranded as "Emerald" from the same date. These buses meet the tough new Euro6 emissions standard, and feature a new lighweight seat design by Lazzerini which incorporates a USB socket and a new style of moquette for Reading Buses. Free Wifi is fitted, as it has been to all new deliveries since 2010.

LAS solo motorcycle seen well off it's usual patch in Reading town centre. It was providing medical support to the March for Honour Team, a group of soldiers, sailors and airmen marching 200 miles to London in order to raise money for injured servicemen - 10.11.10

Earlier today, 11 November 2022, Greater Manchester Police's Chief Constable Stephen Watson was joined by Baroness Bev Hughes, Deputy Mayor for Policing, Crime, Criminal Justice and Fire, and family members of fallen colleagues for a remembrance service at Sedgley Park.
All those in attendance proudly stood together to remember colleagues who sadly lost their lives in the line of duty and all others who have died during conflicts throughout history.
You should call 101, the national non-emergency number, to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response.
Always call 999 in an emergency, such as when a crime is in progress, violence is being used or threatened or where there is danger to life.
