Charlton Services have had this ex Dublin Bus Volvo B7TL Alexander ALX400 since 2014 but it was not until 21st March, 2025, that I managed a photo. X37 XAW was new as AV127 (00-D-70127), one of a batch dedicated to the Airlink service, so I have most likely travelled on it at some point.
Are you spending countless hours retouching your photos?🕘

This residence is under the same roofline as the adjacent service station, so I presume it was for the owner or operator of the petrol station so they could live on site and serve petrol after hours. The service station is now closed down but is located on what was the Hume Hwy linking Melbourne and Sydney. The highway now bypasses most towns along the way, but in its heyday, this petrol station would have been a very busy place.

Although no longer used, the landmark water towers, built in 1905 and 1913, are being preserved and maintained by California Water Service.
A surprise this morning was the appearance of this Optare Solo 2 in our village on Service 141.It is seen here leaving
Druidstone Way,Penllergaer on its' way to Morriston earlier this morning.
According to the fleetcard these three Olympians are available for service. As can be seen, they are being robbed by garages for destinations, dashboards, seats, window glass, etc... As Jim Royale might say, "my arse!"
I was in charge of the fire since the lady was a bit stressed - it got even warmer than it already was!!!
Ich hatte die Verantwortung für das Feuer übernommen, da die gute Frau ein bisschen gestresst war - es war einfach noch wärmer, als es bereits war!!!
United 90
Fruitland, Idaho

United Ambulance Service of Fruitland, Idaho (1971 – 2003) was preceded by Wayne's Taxi and Ambulance service of Payette, Idaho. Then owner/operator Wayne Smith managed EMS with a slight twist, his employees having dual roles as taxi driver and ambulance attendant. The volume of taxi fares being greater than ambulance transports kept taxi drivers far from the ambulance but dispersed throughout the community. In the event of a ambulance call, one taxi driver, if out and about, would drive to the scene of the incident while another would pick up the ambulance “at the barn” and then respond to the scene. I suppose this could be considered an early version of the first-responder program. Eventually, Mr. Smith sold his business to Arvid and Val Hemenway of Fruitland, Idaho (date unknown). The name of the service was changed to United and the taxi component dropped owing to high ambulance call volume. In the early to middle 2000s, United Ambulance Service ended its 32 year run as an EMS provider, which gave rise to two services in its wake: Payette County Paramedics of Fruitland, Idaho and Treasure Valley Paramedics of Ontario, Oregon (1999). Val was my EMT instructor in 1979. I worked for her briefly before leaving the area for paramedic school in Portland, Oregon (1981).
The unit shown above is a 1975, type 1, American Coaches "Amliner" on Chevrolet C-30 Chassis modular ambulance, or "mod" as Val used to call it. United had three ambulances in total: This one (United 90), a home built low-top van (United 92), and a Pontiac Bonneville by Superior (United 94). Take note of the smoke stacks to the rear of the cab. Initially, I assumed that this modification was performed for aesthetics only. It turned out to be a modification of necessity. United's service district was mainly agricultural. The exhaust system was moved to avoid creating crop fires were they to drive into a field of dried vegetation.

G569ESD was a Volvo B10M-55 / Plaxton Derwent B55F delivered new to A1 Service Member Ian Duff. It was caught skirting the sea-shore at South Beach on it's way to Ardrossan. This shot is just full of happy memories for me. South Beach was a favourite place to visit with my family over many years. In younger years I used to go on Sunday School Trips and was just fascinated by the seeming never ending convoy of A1, AA and Clyde Coast buses. With all these distractions it's no wonder that I never won any games or races. Of course in those days my knowledge was pitiful but I just knew that I loved all these buses and companies. Even today if I'm ever feeling down in the dumps I just have to look at slides of these companies and I can just get lost in the mists of time and those happy memories come flooding back.
Built by the mighty PRR in the 1950s, the former Sam Rea Car Shop still stands as a mix-use industrial park. Curry Supply Holdings leases about 1/3 of the building for two of their divisions, Curry Supply and Curry Rail Services. The adjacent yard is also managed by Curry Rail Services for railcar storage. Current capacity is about 2000 cars.
