MM Band Services Van Hool Astromega TDX27 SB03 MMB in Brighton, 24th April, 2023. It is a 2017 registered lhd coach with unknown history prior to arrival in the UK in 2020.
ASD26T was a Leyland Fleetline FE30AGR / Alexander AL Type H74F new to Ian Duff in March 1979 and it remained in the fleet until the end of operations in January 1995. This picture was taken at Parkhouse Garage in Ardrossan and shows the lovely Daimler badge fitted from an earlier bus.

This is a very famous old church in Salvador, Bahia (Brazil) built in 1737, but has been neglected and is gone to ruin. I have heard that restoration may happen. (Note plants growing from the steeples.)
I have seen this church under 2 different names: Nosso Senhor dos Passos and Santissimo Sacramento da Rua do Passo. .

Michael Jackson recorded his video (Brazilian version) of "They Don't Really Care About Us" in the favelas (slums) of Rio de Janeiro and also on the street in Salvador that you see at the beginning of SImon's video when the drummers are heading down a cobblestoned street near the beginning.
At the beginning and end of the video, Brazilian men are performing capoeira, a martial art that has evolved into a dance-like performance, where blows never land. But those videos look like they are in slow motion. In actuality, capoeira is much faster.
The church and its steps were featured in the 1962 film "O Pagador de Promessas" which can be translated as "The Promise Payer" but it is also listed in the IMDb as "The Given Word" ("The Promise Payer" is more descriptive of the plot.) It won the Palme D'Or at Cannes and was the first Brazilian film to be nominated for an Oscar.

C100HSJ was a Scania N112DRB / East Lancs H80F purchased new by A1 Service Member Brown's of Dreghorn in January 1986. It passed to Stagecoach A1 Service with the business in 1995 and was later transferred to Hull. On disposal it worked for Robert's of Bagillt and Coachmasters of Rochdale.
The old Balgownie Drive terminus has come back into use with the introduction of the 9 service, much to the delight of this woman no doubt. However, passenger numbers are poor in comparison to the 8 as the 9 misses out all the sections of route where demand is higher to serve Balgownie Drive. It picks up from Tillydrone going into town but the rerouted 18 will steal many of these waiting passengers. Balgownie Drive could have been served more effectively in other ways. How long will it continue to be served by bus this time.
The delightful station at Yeovil Pen Mill dates back to 1854. It retains its curious layout and a mixture of semaphore signals against the odds.

Masha is not just any Borzoi dog. She is a service dog for a young woman I met today who has a terminal brain tumor. I am a big dog lover and you know I had my camera with me and I would love to be a dog photographer. Besides that, I was with a very good friend who lost her step-son to a terminal brain tumor. We did a lot of chatting, all of us. Tonya was very sweet, but says she is at the end of her fight. She was kind and brave and admirable. And she is a pet photographer, too. That was a bonus. It was a blessing to meet her. What a ride she has been on.

Bill Lovegreen, Richmond VA Medical Center regional director of orthotics/prosthetics with VA's Amputation System of Care, marks the liner of Veteran John Peck Aug. 19 so Konrad Walz can make adjustments in the prosthetics lab. The service has roughly 12 regular prosthetic patients, but makes adjustments and replacements for many other Veterans. The fitting process can take over an hour, but is necessary to ensure functionality and patient comfort. Walz and his colleagues in the service strive for perfection for each patient. "It makes me feel good when I can make a real difference for someone," said Walz. "If I work even harder and do a better job than anyone else, it is all the more so."
