Don't yell ... but I blew it ... I meant to post this Monday - Veteran's Day in the US - he was selling counterfeit watches on a busy NYC street (I'm guessing counterfeit cause the Rolex's were just $10)... but I can't imagine a more fitting tribute to the veterans and their service than the proud expression he wears on his hardscrabble face ....
PS .... just realized it was Labor Day this week ... not Veteran's .... yikes ... my bad .... senior moment .... but I still stand by and enjoy and want to share my post … 💛💜💛 …
After many years being restored ,9681 heads towards the Norchard station with the 1st trip back in service.
Easter Saturday was the official launch day for the new look ConnexionsBuses 13 service, now known as "Super 13" with branding and a livery designed by Jamie Vendy which in some ways is similar to the discontinued Southern Vectis livery. This identity will eventually spread to other members of the HCT fleet, with YN05GXB rumoured to be next in line, and it certainly makes the buses stand out from the rest which is no longer an easy task in York. The Super 13 runs between Haxby and Copmanthorpe, and route information has now also been applied above the windows. The 'Flying Lime' is seen here at the rail station wih Chris after finishing the last southbound part-route journey of the day and now heading back to depot displaying a Bradford-like Staff Bus destination.
Scania L94UB Wright Solar YN05 WKJ was new to First North West (Manchester) as 65740, but was sold to Stagecoach Wirral & Merseyside with the sale of the Chester depot and so became Stagecoach 28552. There is a slight irony that it is therefore now running a former Firstgroup service.
ASD30T was a Leyland Atlantean AN68A/1R / Alexander AL Type H45/33F purchased new A1 Service member JJ Stewart in April 1979, seen leaving Kilmarnock whilst bound for Ardrossan. It was sold to fellow member Robert Meney in November 1988, and moved to yet another member when John McMenemy purchased it in August 1994. On disposal in May 1995 it was sold to Keenan of Coalhall, before strangely returning to ex A1 member Robert Steele (after the services had been sold to Stagecoach) in July 1996 for use on school contracts.

According to the fleetcard these three Olympians are available for service. As can be seen, they are being robbed by garages for destinations, dashboards, seats, window glass, etc... As Jim Royale might say, "my arse!"
This Leyland Fleetline FE30AGR / Alexander AL style body was new in July 1976 to A1 member James Murray , but by the time this shot was taken it had passed to another member. In this case it was Robert Meney, whose garage was in Dalry Road, Saltcoats. It is seen here on a Sunday afternoon as it crosses the railway bridge in Saltcoats. On disposal it saw further service with Marbill of Beith.
OJD199R was a Leyland Fleetline FE30AGR / MCW H44/24D purchased new by London Transport (DMS2199) in February 1977. On disposal in October 1983 it joined A1 Service with member Docherty of Irvine and was converted to H74F. It didn't remain long however and moved to Graham's of Paisley as their D10 (later renumbered to D3) in March 1985. In April 1990 it passed to Norfolk's of Nayland, and four months later was with Hall & Ashby t/a Circle Line of Gloucester. It went to Wigley of Carlton (dealer) for scrap in March 1995.

Panning to the right from about the same vantage point as the previous photo, here's a shot looking across nearly the entire expanse of the service department island. I always fear that I'm confusing y'all when I call it that, but hopefully this photo helps you visualize things; I say “island” because that wall you see on the left of the shot – the one that the bakery and deli butt up against – is not actually an outer wall of the building, but is simply a dividing wall inside the salesfloor itself. Aisle 1 lies directly on the other side. (Technically then, I suppose it should be called a “peninsula” instead, but oh well :P )

Fresh out of the paint booth in Plainfield, PW 4302 sits pretty on the Norwich Side in Worcester before heading southbound on the point of WONR. It would be an eventful journey to say the least, with a few "tecnincal difficulties" that were no doubt a side effect of this unit being rushed back into service. 7/2016
