It is that time of year here in Australia and when I am out riding, I am always ready for the occasional magpie swooping when I venture into its territory during the nesting season, but it is still a little unnerving when it happens! So, after this one swooped me no less than seven times, I had no choice but to stop, get off the trike, and shoot it (with the camera of course!!!)

The Haus der Statistik is a building complex in the Berlin district Mitte in Otto-Braun-Straße 70-72 (between 1966 and 1995 Hans-Beimler-Straße), south of Karl-Marx-Allee. It was founded in 1968-1970 as the headquarters of the State Central Administration for Statistics of the GDR. After German reunification, German authorities used the buildings, which have been empty since 2008.
Until 2017, the building was owned by the Federal Republic of Germany, which wanted to demolish it and sell the site. However, the Berlin Senate was able to acquire the building complex as part of the capital city financing agreement. Together with several other initiatives and administrations, the complex will be completely renovated and will be used for a wide range of purposes.

Serial number 176 first flew on October 9, 1969 and was delivered to Societa Nazionale Metanodotti in Milan, Italy as I-SNAM.
This was the 46.5-year old's third final flight. On June 18, 2016, it departed Toronto and flew to Ottawa, Kansas via Detroit, Michigan. It was later cannibalized for parts at the facilities of Dodson International Parts, Inc. in nearby Rantoul, Kansas.
"Serial killer vibes". 3 words spoken to me this morning from a passerby. And at 5 am, out on a quiet street alone, I'm ok with someone getting that vibe off of me.

Di: (quietly, to Helen) Did the Home Office insist on Raia coming so that you could do a field assessment on her?
Helen: It's nothing to worry about.
Di: Are they reconsidering keeping her on the squad?
Helen: Do you know why I always introduce you as Professor Royce?
Di: Sure, it helps to break the ice.
Helen: It's because I know that most people see you as window dressing, and I want to make sure that they respect you. (she looks at Raia) She belongs on this squad, too. And I make sure the Home Office accepts that.
Roscoe: (approaches Helen & Di) I've got my team coordinated so we can head over to stables. I just need to swing by my place for some gear. That okay?
Helen: As long as we'll be at the stables for entry.
Roscoe: Wouldn't miss it.
Di: Raia, time to lock and roll! (walking toward the door Roscoe's holding open for them)
Raia: (to Di, falling in behind her) You enjoy being perceived as window dressing.
Di: (smiling) It's my weapon of choice.
Helen: (falling in behind Raia) Eavesdropper.

These may *look* like Fake Plastic Trees, but they're not...
I had never seen a date farm before, so I had never seen so many perfect palm trees lined up in so many perfect rows (not even in Hawaii!). It was a sight to behold.
(I had also never had a date shake before; they are very, very sweet...not to mention very difficult to drink through a straw.)
