Thank you in advance for your views, comments, and faves. They are much appreciated!
It's still winter but joeys already emerge from Mum's pouches on sunny days. This little one was practicing standing on his own two feet (with tail support) and his first scratching.
(Macropus giganteus - a slight exaggeration IMHO (-;)
The Rosemary Beetle feeds on rosemary and lavender. I found this happy duo on our rosemary bush. The beetles are irridescent and hard to photograph for me.

Scratch my ass, and I'll scratch yours. This is Cowboy my donkey who was born on Mother's Day 20 years ago. He loves to have his ears and ass scratched and if he doesn't get scratched he'll bunt you in the balls. I should have named him after Eeyore on Winnie the Pooh because of his sad bray (unlike his mother's harsh cry) as well as his sometimes gloomy attitude but I thought Cowboy would toughen him up to keep the coyotes at bay. Donkeys have powerful front and back feet that can strike out at a predator if needed.
Ruby-throated Hummingbird taking time out to scratch his chin. I still have more males than females visiting the feeders. Later on in the season the males will be hard to find. Thanks for the visit
One from last spring.
I took this image using my car as a hide. The Curlew was standing close to the road and was relaxed enough to start cleaning and scratching itself infront of me.

This is a close-up of the roof of the bicycle shed at The National Physical Laboratory that I photographed through the border railings. I thought the shapes resembled palm tree fronds or the talons of a bird of prey.
White-throated Sparrow scrounging for an over-looked treat in a heap of spent black-oiler sunflower seed husks.
Common migrant and summer resident.
This wild vixen needs to quell that itch near the ear as she keeps her eye on me to make sure I don’t make any sudden moves. I took this last March about this time and I was there today to see her but didn't get any nice shots. One of the prettiest foxes I've seen, she is the photographers dream!

I tried to make an etching with a very slow working agent, but the covering with paint and asphalt was detached and so I had to take the plate out of the etching agent. There were some awesome odidations to be seen on the bottom side of the plate. Now I printed the front side and it worked, insted of very shallow etchings. Will show that next!
This little chap was enjoying a really good scratch in the dappled sunlight.
The expressions and poses these little guys make never cease to amaze and enchant me.

As always I extend my sincere appreciation to all those who take the time to stop by and comment on my photos.
This is Gracie Jo, the semi-feral cat we are trying to coax indoors. Today's forecast was for a "wintry mix", lots of wind, etc. At lunch time, Gracie Jo ran pretty quickly to the back door (before I could take her food up to her heated area in the workshop), so it seemed like a good time to try whisking her inside. I got her into the laundry room without her biting or scratching me. Just about that time the wind picked up and the rain turned to sleet & I think Gracie Jo must have been okay with being inside for a little while.
