Bearing colorful signs and banners, over a thousand activists from dozens of U.S. cities marched around City Hall demanding "housing now!"

They heard speakers from Philadelphia movement leaders, including Save the UC Townhomes Coalition, Students for the Preservation of Chinatown and from PA State Senator Nicki Saval and City Council person Jamie Gauthier.

The event was part of the national convention of the Center for Popular Democracy.
