I can't understand, why the Europeans, don't come.

Tau Emerald Dragonfly (Hemicordulia tau)
As I was walking past Al's garden on the way to Bill's I spotted this Tau Emerald hanging off a leaf of the Liquidamber Tree at a strange angle. Closer inspection showed it was caught in a web. I took another leaf and was able to free it from the web but it had a wing at a strange angle and a damaged leg. I put the leaf on the lawn and took a photo then stepped back to see if it was okay. After about four minutes it flew off.
Upon learning that a trio of GP9s had been paired for one of the Hamilton sets, there was only one reasonable and logical thing to do. Wake up at 3am and drive to Hamilton for sunrise of course. When I arrived in Hammer town I was greeted by a group of friends who had driven overnight from even further away than I, who stayed the night at a rest stop. In these days, the 0700 worked the industrial sector of Hamilton called "the hole", and the 0800 just switched the yard on the weekend. When the 0700 job crew walked over to the less desirable GP38 duo (crazy to think that's undesirable) there was a unanimous "groan" from the crowd. The trio was not a guarantee, and it was a gamble that we all chose that looked like it wasn't going to pay off. We chased the duo into the hole to Bunge where they started switching food grade tank cars. While watching them switch we all came to the conclusion that to salvage the day, we would shoot mainline trains with the searchlights on the Dundas Sub. We were about to leave when we heard "0800 job CN 4116 looking to enter the hole". We all looked at each other with smiles and "hell yeahs". A few minutes later the 0800 crew passed the 0700 crew next to Bunge, and the morning chase of a somewhat rare 0800 hole morning commenced. Photographing two CN jobs in the hole at the same time is also a fairly rare occurrence. Moral of the story, stick it out. The line "so you're telling me there's a chance" from Dumb and Dumber is sometimes truthful. Might have been better to invest in habitat preservation for all Polar Bears, rather than saving a few in zoos.
Nonetheless, I was happy to have the opportunity to see this one here, since I am never going to see a wild one.

Landmannalaugar is in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve in the Highlands of Iceland. It is at the edge of Laugahraun lava field, which was formed in an eruption around the year 1477. It is well known for its natural geothermal hot springs and surrounding landscape.
Landmannalaugar is the northern end of the Laugavegur hiking trail and a popular destination for tourist traveling in Iceland.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

I spotted this fellow caught in a spider web on the Ivy plant. I was able to pull a leaf off the plant and, using the stem of the leaf, free him from the web.

In this era of instant internet news, you may ask why you should save your newspaper. There are two obvious reasons:
1. For house breaking a new puppy
2. To spread out on the table when eating crabs
Well, as you can see by this photo there is an obvious third reason that even I didn’t think of ... curtains.
You never know when you might need a quick set of curtains, which also provide excellent reading material, crosswords, sudoku and the like.
Old farm house located off a rural road in Lancaster County, Virginia. The plate on the truck says Farm Use.
For the most part, the photo that I wanted to take with the Common Redstart was exactly this one, when it would sit on that perch with one tiny mushroom. However, I was about to miss this opportunity, yet a mistake saved the photo. I had my shutter speed at around 1/1000 since it was a bit sunny, but not enough to raise it any more. Then, when the Common Redstart finally sat on the perch, the sun faded behind a cloud right at that moment....but I didn't notice. So I took the photos without realizing that I would have underexposed results with 1/1000 shutter speed. But just as I finished shooting and gave a quick glance at the settings I had, fear stroke me. 1/500 shutter speed. I was certain that the photos would be overexposed, but when I checked them out, it turns out they were perfect. I don't know how I changed the shutter speed (I don't use Auto mode) but I'm glad I changed it.
