Save Mart
5671 East Kings Canyon
Fresno, CA
This store opened in 2008.
This Save Mart has a "mountain" theme.
It is a large store yet only has 5 checkouts. The Vons across the road had a "Welcome Save Mart Pharmacy Customers" Banner but the pharmacy in this store was operating as normal.
I was one of the fortunate few to win a sample of highest (above 14,000 feet!) quality Cashmere! Thanks to Linda Cortright of Wild Fibers Magazine and Save the Fleece.
Made manifest...This was painted in my old hood..BowenHomes' which is no longer..This was a dope spot to paint in the hood because it could be seen from a highly visible spot along a small hwy called Jackson parkway'...(My apologies on the bad shot ill post better one soon.)
yes, he made the save. I wish I shot this slightly slower to get the movement of the ball from right to left; but then again I'd be upset that the goalie was blurred, so I'll take it. lol
Around five thousand vegans march through Central London, from Hyde Park to Parliament Square, in a protest organised by Surge, The Save Movement and HeartCure Collective calling for an end to animal exploitation and to promote veganism as a healthy, compassionate way of living.
From this photographers point of view the event was a pleasure to shoot, with a friendly and very noisy crowd carrying mostly self-made banners and wearing some great - and sometimes truly hideous - costumes.

Lake Pichola in Udaipur is man-made, you see. My tailor told me it's mostly only about eleven feet deep, and that in the heat of the summer it often dries up and they play cricket on the bed. They have to drive people out to the lake palaces in landrovers. I'd love to see it some time, but I must admit I'm glad the water was there for my first visit!

I took a few macro shots of corks today in hopes to get you all to save the corks for Valencia's foundation that raises funds for student scholarships. I wrote more about it on my blog: www.amandakern.com/blog/2009/10/save-the-corks/
If you're interested in participating here's the info on how you can help donate your corks to help students in need:
valenciafoundation.wordpress.com/2009/09/18/save-the-corks/
Of course you can also donate your corks at Valencia's annual Taste for learning event:
And they're holding a silent auction to help raise funds for student scholarships too:

May 22nd 2010 - Outside BBC Broadcasting house in London.
My girlfriend and I love BBC 6music. So much so that we went on a 450 mile road trip just to attend a protest outside BBC Broadcasting House in London.
There isn't much time to tell the BBC that the decision to close 6music and The Asian Network is wrong, the consultation ends on the 25th of May. Click here to find out what to do.
“The BBC can’t possibly close 6 Music, what will happen to the best new music and passing on the knowledge of old music? What other station plays bands like The National and then follows it with Curtis Mayfield and then the Beastie Boys? It's just wrong to even consider it, it will make fewer young people want to listen to the radio and therefore less new stuff will happen, sort ya heads out please.”

Sabrina Jones & Seth Tobocman painted these stencils on the floor @ Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space. She is wearing one of those #blacklivesmatter pins also. She & Seth are painting a mural @ CHARAS now.
That's what the blouse on her dress has written on it. I have no clue what that is supposed to mean.
The script used is terrible. Quite hard to read at a distance. And I wouldn't want strangers getting that close to my children if I wasn't there. That is, of course, if I had children.
Bad concept, this is.
