We now have a pair of pliers in the kitchen, so that one can remove a tin lid that the can opener has not adequately opened.
Leading to this new procedure was a cut knuckle, two hours in the clinic waiting room, and a tetanus shot.
By the way, just before I cut myself, I actually said, "Self, don't do this. It's dangerous. You could cut yourself badly."

I'm currently working on-site for one of my company's clients. It's a very...umm...different environment than the one I'm used to. They're very safety conscious for one thing. Yesterday, for instance, when I went into the breakroom to heat up my soup, I reached into the drawer for a plastic spoon. I found this sign instead. Apparently the batch of plastic spoons they had received were too sharp. Plastic.

I was shocked at this scene, since it was so very unsafe. It was a busy scene, with lots of passers-by and no protection if that backhoe were to come tumbling backwards out of this building in the process of being destroyed. Driver was going up a 45 degree slope, with debris a-fallin'. The guy in the white shirt was 3 feet from me.
Safety first? Yeah, right!

A safety study on Williamson in early September, with the removal of peak-hour travel lanes along the street. I felt the inclusion of a moving car and pedestrians with the work in progress of the facade at Mother Fool's tells the story best.
I had better ideas for today but time caught up on me!! But, I do feel protected and safe with my passwords, our security system, my Touch ID and Passcode for my iPhone and of course all the keys that lock us up safe and sound .... protected!!

Having worked for Australian mining company’s recently I’m used to safety & PPE being very dominant in the workplace.
So whilst walking the city wall in Xi'an I spotted this scene and just had to photograph it.
