Created for The Award Tree's Winter Treatment challenge.
My sister lives in rural Michigan where she and her husband have a beautiful house on lots of land with a good-sized, man-made pond in the backyard. Deer come down to the pond for the salt lick, to graze and to drink. It's also a safe haven for them during hunting season since Judy & Peter don't allow hunting on their property. Still, I cringe every time I hear a rifle shot when I visit at that time of year.
In the summer, they're harder to see since there's no white snow to set them off. But there's no missing them when they come to the near side of the pond and start munching on the flowers in my sister's garden. At that point, Judy lets the dog out (a lab) and the deer take off in a flash :-).
Thanks to my sister for sending me the original photo! She took it from inside the house looking out over the upper level deck (see below).
A lovely peaceful countryside view!
Stay Safe and Healthy Everyone!

My dog always does this thing where he crawls under my bed, so, I took this as an opportunity to get my picture today.
Safe Harbour
Sandi Patty
This world of human heartache
Hurt all around
Who's gonna care for the broken ones?
They sail a sea of sadness
Sometimes alone
Where the wind and the waves overcome
They need a place
Where they can come in from the danger
Find a little shelter
Rest secure and warm
They need a safe, safe harbour
Haven in the midst of the storm
Where there's freedom to conquer
The questions and problems
And fears are lost in love
There's assurance and healing
And blessed believing
When they find the Lord is always enough
In a safe, safe harbour
Safe, safe harbour
Pentax MX / Fuji 400
Processed with a roll of ECN-2 film that left 2 other rolls of fuji 200 color shifted, stained, and otherwise twisted.
If you squint you can also see concentric purple circles from my autofocus camera lens capturing the negative. It's too reflective, or it in combination with thinly developed Fuji 200 is too reflective. I had to switch to a manual lens to improve scans.

Wishing all my friends, old and new, an enjoyable day and a safe and happy weekend! Be positive, and take some pictures! You really otter!
Speaking of otters, don't get a pet otter - the 2 otters at the Pittsburgh Zoo (there may be a third now, a baby) cost about US $40,000/year to feed. Only the best seafood for them! No wonder they're happy!
Safe Haven is a memorial sculpture by Ian Wolter to the Kindertransport by which mainly Jewish chidren were brought safely out of Nazi Germany shortly before World War Two. It depicts children on their arrival in Harwich by ship from the Netherlands. The sculpture now stands by the Ha'penny Pier on Harwich Quay.

Chris Morning of the Hamilton Wildcats takes the footy while under pressure from two Central Blues players in this early season matchup from last year.
While I am under "house arrest" I am periodically going to post some footy shots from the last few seasons
My case is now safely stored in the station masters office its a rather delicate it of kit I have with me this time that doesn't respond well to being thrown around all oveer the joint.
Time now to sit and get my head around the journey ahead.

The leading cause of death among fashion models is falling through street grates ` Dave Berry (so in the interest of safety.....EAT THAT OREO!!! ;-)
For the last few years Bee Orchids have been appearing on the common ground opposite our house, only to be mown down by the Council grass cutters despite requests for them not to mow this area. So earlier this year my neighbour dug up some and put them in her front garden for safe keeping - they are now just beginning to come into flower.
I tend to live a safe life...but that's not what I was created for! I shall sail into the deep waters...like trying to do a watercolor journal page when I'm not a good watercolor-er! LOL But hey...I'm giving everything a chance!!
