This baby Burrowing Owl looks a little grumpy but I am sure he feels very safe inside his tube. Taken at the Alberta Birds of Prey Centre in Coaldale, Alberta. They rescue and, if possible, release injured birds of prey back into the wild. If the birds cannot be released, they may be taken to visit schools and parks to increase public awareness.

Many thanks for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.

One of the two ocean pools located in Kiama in New South Wales. The east coast abounds in these tidal pools and they make for wonderful elements to be included in coastal compositions. I called this photo "Safe Heaven" because these pools give swimmers great protection from the rough seas (and sharks).

High tide in Porthleven, and a clear difference between the relatively calm water inside the harbour, compared to the turbulent sea outside. I waited for a few minutes, camera ready, to include the gulls in flight, and due to the gusty wind I now have a film of crystallised salt to carefully clean off my camera lens.

Pentax MX / Fuji 400

Processed with a roll of ECN-2 film that left 2 other rolls of fuji 200 color shifted, stained, and otherwise twisted.

If you squint you can also see concentric purple circles from my autofocus camera lens capturing the negative. It's too reflective, or it in combination with thinly developed Fuji 200 is too reflective. I had to switch to a manual lens to improve scans.

A red-breasted merganser mother (Mergus serrator) and her adorable chicks, who stayed in our neighbourhood for a long time last summer.

It's nice to go through warming summer photos, on a cold and windy winter day like today.

The We're Here! gang is visiting Greetings from Shitsville today!

I imagine that this is how they barbecue in Shitsville. Decapitated.

The distant ship's light on the horizon is from a fishing boat off the coast of Oregon. The sea was very active even at low tide due to an incoming storm just before sunset. I would not want to be out in a small (less than an aircraft carrier) boat in stormy weather.

Fyero was loving that the lawn mowers hadn't been by and she was able to hide a bit better in the grass.

I also love the her fur is a bit of a mess over her eye and it looks like she's giving me 'the look'.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.
