SWT Charabanc on a private hire. The photo was part of a small collection held by an individual working at Brunswick Street offices. I was allowed to copy the photo - but the old-style brass driver's badge also part of the collection was kept hidden

SWT 180 dwarfed by the bulk of the Reichstag building in Berlin. Since the building was brought back into use as the Parliament building, access to this location is no longer possible and entry is restricted. 180 was carrying members of Morriston Orpheus Choir who were appearing in the Berlin Military Tattoo. September 1977
Not hard to see how The Rabbi was carried on to Gillingham. The sign on the signalbox reads "Platform Not In Use" and you can't even access it by the footbridge outside peak hours. The point from which the picture is taken was previously on the lifted, down side trackbed, now filled in and forming the new up/down platform.
There is still an active "Friends" group whose efforts in the garden are much appreciated by users but, with the box closing and operations transferred to Basingstoke in February '12, the welcoming atmosphere of this Dorset jewel has been lost.
