Well done to the South Wales Transport Preservation Group for putting on the AEC Regent 30 event, marking the February 1982 withdrawal of the last South Wales Transport Regent V's, GWN 867E was one of a number of these classic half cabs providing services on the 77 and 14 routes, the Pennard to Swansea 14 route included the awkward Plough Corner and the SWT Regent is seen here in 2012 negotiating the tight corner.

Heading along Christchurch bank, and up towards Hinton Admiral (right), is 444027 and 444033 operating 1W60 12:03 Weymouth - Waterloo. It hadn't really dawned on me at the time, but with several 444 units now in the new South Western Railway (SWR) livery a pair in the original South West Trains (SWT) livery may not be as common now?
The Class 170s stay on South West Trains was quite short. 170.307 pauses at Basingstoke on a Salisbury-Waterloo semifast service on Saturday morning, 29 October 2005.

These are some of the orphans who are being raised at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's Nairobi Nursery. The nursery is where the orphaned baby elephants are initially brought to be raised among other orphans as well as by their amazing keepers. They remain in the nursery until they are old enough and ready to move up to one of the Reintegration units where they will eventually return to the wild. The SWT has a wonderful foster program where you can "adopt" an orphan (or two) www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/

The only sunny shot from a rather frustrating day. Here 450042 'Treloar College' leads 450080 and 450543 out of Eastleigh, and down towards Southampton Airport Parkway working 2B19 08:40 Waterloo - Poole stopping service.
Once used to be a Southern Gatwick Express South West trains have taken on these units and converted them to be able to work with the 450's.
This unit had done a couple of days testing down in Weymouth and seen here passing Shawford on her return to Wimbledon Park Depot
Ex Maidstone & District short National 352 (KKL 540P) leaving the Quadrant for Neath, Feb 1983. Behind can be seen the extension to the Grand Theatre being built.

My final shot of 2013, and it's of 159020 passing Sherrington operating 1O48 12:51 Bristol to Salisbury. Recent heavy rain had recently passed, and the sun appeared to illuminate not only this scene, but the previous two diverted Freightliners. A good end to 2013 (in my opinion).
