On Sunday 14th April 1991, 37196 is stationary on the up main at Inveresk. Fresh ballast is being dropped. There was single line working on this day and unusually there was MGR's working to and from Cockenzie.
A road less traveled.....I was taking pictures on this winter morning....a Sunday morning to be exact! with a large cup of coffee!
Does it look like a mess?
Well, look carefully :)
It's all arranged meticulously and compartmentalized neatly.
All this for just one day of trading.
The Sunday Market (locally known as Ravivaari Bazaar) is a age old trading spot below the very old Ellis Bridge in the city of Ahmedabad.
The traders come down to this spot every sunday and spread their items on the floor or make shift tents from dawn to dusk.
Laetare Sunday is the fourth Sunday in the season of Lent, in the Western Christian liturgical calendar. Traditionally, this Sunday has been a day of celebration, within the austere period of Lent. This Sunday gets its name from the first few words of the traditional Latin entrance (Introit) for the Mass of the day. "Laetare Jerusalem" ("Rejoice, O Jerusalem") is the Latin verse from Isaiah 66:10.
The rose vestments on Laetare Sunday is a custom originating in the fact that, as a symbol of joy and hope in the middle of this somber Season, popes used to carry a golden rose in their right hand when returning from the celebration of Mass on this day. The custom was that the rose was then conferred by the Pope upon a Catholic monarch or esteemed personage who was distinguished for their service to Holy Mother Church.
In imitation of this custom, St. John Cantius awards their own 'golden rose' upon a distinguished parishioner in recognition of their Catholic example and service to the parish. This year's recipient was Mr. William Melichar.
Known also as "Mothering Sunday", the blessing of expectant mothers was conferred upon many mothers who are anticipating the birth of their children, which bespeaks of Holy Mother Church joyfully awaiting the members to be born into the family of the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil.

Sundays is breakfast in bed & fruit salad. A tradition, more or less. Content may vary. Can also be scrambled eggs and crispy bacon, even if the latter is more for Saturday mornings and during colder weather than now...
William Alfred Cocks of Ryton [1892-1971] Collection
Ryton Congregational Church Sunday School outing to an unidentified location [possibly West Wylam, Northumberland] in the countryside. nd [1904]
William A Cocks of 18, St Mary's Terrace, Ryton, was a well known local watch and clock maker and a keen amateur archaeologist and photographer. His father, John Cocks was a Newcastle Bank official who wrote for the Hexham Courant as "Old Cross" for many years, and was closely involved with Ryton Congregational Church. William Cocks was also probably a member of the Church and recorded its activities.

Palm Sunday is a Christian moveable feast that falls on the Sunday before Easter. The feast commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in each of the four canonical Gospels.[3]
In many Christian churches, Palm Sunday includes a procession of the assembled worshipers carrying palms, representing the palm branches the crowd scattered in front of Jesus as he rode into Jerusalem. The difficulty of procuring palms in unfavorable climates led to their substitution with branches of native trees, including box, yew, willow, and olive. The Sunday was often designated by the names of these trees, as in Yew Sunday, or by the general term Branch Sunday.

Please take a moment to like my new Facebook page. Thank you!
Today was a good day. Hence why I'm up so late because I'm still so glad to have had it.
I'm starting myself a photo blog to act as a sort of public diary and record of related events about photography, people, places, etc.
If you share this, please leave my watermark in place as I'd really appreciate people knowing this is my work.
If you are interested in buying a high quality print of any size, just email me.

"For those who've slept
For those who've kept
Themselves jacked up
How Jesus wept
Sunday
Sunday
For those in need
For those who speed
For those who try to slow their minds with weed
Sunday
Sunday
For those who wake
With a blind headache
Who must be still
Who will sit and wait
For sunday, to be monday
Yeah, it will be ok
Do nothing today
Give yourself a break
Let your imagination run away
For those with guilt
For those who wilt
Under pressure
No tears over spilt milk
Sunday"

Unedited shot of people in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
Yesterday was another typical Dutch Summer day, looooots of rain, a few minutes of sunshine, mooooore rain, some sun, rain, sun, rinse&repeat. I was lucky enough to witness some of the 30-second sunshine-windows and shoot some wicked reflections while they lasted, but I can tell you, it was a bit frustrating, by the time I had the camera out of my bag, the sun had already disappeared again and left me standing all wet in the next rain shower, but stubborn as I am, I didn't give up, my superhero Reflection-Reflex (comparable to Spiderman's Spidey-sense!) would lead me to the next wet spot and make me hunch over it with my finger on the trigger, until I had some proper pictures, and I think it was worth getting wet :)
Have a nice Sunday :)
I've made a wicked reflection movie of this puddle too, watch it on my YouTube channel, thanks :)

Here Lola is again. I'm shooting her as much as possible these days since I swear she's gaining a pound a day... I just told her to leave it, so she's patiently waiting for me to say go get it!
