A Spirit Airlines' Airbus A320 takes off from runway 28R -South runway- at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport.
The South runway was extended in 2014 to accommodate for more traffic from bigger aircraft.
The runway had to be extended to pass over U.S.1/Federal Highway road.
Therefore, planes take off and land on the runway that runs on top of car traffic, making the views of close-up aircraft spectacular.
Spectacular orange and yellow sunsets are just about the only good thing that comes from these thick voggy days. During this one, I was lucky enough to capture a humpback whale passing by.
Spectacular lightning over the Oslo fjord. This one looked like an explosion inside the thunder cloud.

The NS Roanoke district, although not very active, has some of the finest scenery in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains, along with its persisting N&W CPL signals. Arcadia/Solitude is no exception as one of the most popular and scenic locations on the Roanoke District. Here, is empty coal train NS 747 breaking the silence heading north to Pennsylvania with four NS AC equipped units. Although we anticipated 747 to depart Roanoke earlier in the morning for more favorable light, seeing a northbound train up the south end of the valley in daylight is admirable.

70 miles to the east these clouds were all being funneled into the northern Cascade range creating a massive downpour that I had traveled through earlier in the day. Here though they did not rain and instead created a spectacular checkerboard of dark cloud and blue sky that the sun illuminated as it set.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - It was the perfect evening at Middle Fork Powder River Canyon. After a sunny day, these wispy clouds moved in for a spectacular sunset. Then they moved out again to allow for astrophotography later.
Here’s a panorama I took from Blues Point back in February this year.
It turned out to be a beautiful sunrise that morning.
Just when I think I have shot every angle of this wonderful city, I always find another angle I want to shoot.
I took this shot at a slightly different location, more towards Lavender Bay.
I hope you enjoy this image.

shot this one about 2 hours ago by the Adler Planetarium as the lights of the city started turning on in spectacular fashion...just got my camera back after having it cleaned up and wanted to test and see if they did a good job, and i'm a really happy customer right now as i don't see any pesky dust spots at the moment...anyway, tonight was really a great night to be out shooting nightscapes of the city...the clouds were perfect and had movement and the colors were awesome as well...i even got some nice trails from the boats on the lake on some of my other frames...hope you all have a great weekend....pls. Five more photos taken on 24 September 2021, on an autumn drive to Kananaskis.
On 24 September 2021, the day could not have been more beautiful, especially for seeing the spectacular fall colours. The colours simply glowed! Unfortunately, we aren't lucky enough to have the amazing red colours of Maple trees, but our mainly yellows with some orange are still breathtaking.
My day started at 8:45 am and ended when I arrived back home just before 7:00 pm. A total distance of 418 km. As usual, I drove south from the city and then northwards on the highway that goes through Kananaskis. Unlike my previous trip, I drove further north so that I could call in at two or three extra locations. I was sure that one in particular would be looking spectacular with all the fall colour.
Again, I stopped to see if I could see one of the tiny Pikas/Rock Rabbits and I was in luck briefly. Travelling further north, I stopped at my usual places to photograph my favourite mountain peaks. At one of them, I couldn't resist checking to see if there were still any of the Shaggy Mane mushrooms growing. Amazing how 50 or so of them can vanish without a trace. How lucky I was to see them on my previous visit. So beautiful, but so temporary.
Despite the fact that it was a Friday, there were so many people making the most of the great weather. Parking lots for various hiking trails were overflowing way down the highway in both directions. Endless motorcyclists and a few regular cyclists, too. So many cattle everywhere.
