We received orders to take care of ( kill ) a HVT ( High Value Target ) in northern Syria. Just as we were setting up a group of insurgents came marching by, we countinued setting upo hoping they would leave. But then one pearled through the window and saw us, but then received a large bullet hole in his head. Two other insurgents then came running toward the window, one with an AK and one with an RPG. So then we killed them as well but we made a lot of noise with all the gunfire, so we packed up and asked for a extraction site. --- Lt. James Marshal US Special Forces.

Do you have a Special place? You know, the place where you feel free, you feel peace.. healing, happiness..? Where all your problems disappear while you're there..? Do you..? For such a long time I didn't realised that Hill of Crosses was the Special place for me..
When I was in Lithuania about a month ago, I didn't have a car to travel around by myself and so I didn't manage to have a full photoshoot at the Hill of Crosses. However, I've had a chance to spend approx 12minutes there and have a walk around with my mum and big sister. It was really windy and raining, and we were in a hurry to get somewhere. When I took my jacket off and asked my sister to take a few photos of me. She gave a sort of smile that says 'yeah, you are crazy about your photos..It's freezing!'

Here's another photo of the northern lights from a couple summers ago. I was lucky enough for one of these images to go viral. It was an amazing experience.
I was inspired to edit and post this tonight after seeing the movie "Gravity" the other night. There was a shot from space looking down on earth and you could see the northern lights down below.
The auroras are so special regardless of your where they're being viewed from.

Boeing 747SP VQ-BMS of Las Vegas Sands Corporation comes in to land at McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Many thanks to the fellow photographers who let me hang out with them that day, and especially to the one with local knowledge who sussed out that this was coming in and got us to the right place to get the shot - just minutes before the sun set. This aircraft entered service with Pan Am as N540PA "China Clipper" over 40 years ago, and is now kitted out in a VIP configuration.
