A trio of B&P SD60s heads north through heavy snowfall towards Buffalo after holding for the weekend after record setting snowfall in the Buffalo area!
Surrounded by the floodwaters of Utah Lake, Union Pacific SD60s No. 6007, 6005, and 6053 pull a United States Fuel (Mohrland), Utah to Moapa, Nevada coal train out of Provo, Utah the morning of April 10, 1988. These floodwaters receded decades ago, and the right of way is today lined with brush and trees.
...recreated. The weather was not kind on the day of this shoot, but I feel this palette comes close to matching what I saw.

Union Pacific SD60Ms No. 6145, 6130, and SD60 No. 6052 pull the North Platte - Los Angeles Trailers through Lofgreen, Utah on the Lynndyl Subdivision the morning of June 23, 1990. Note the green HOGX stock cars on the head end, bound for the Farmer John hog slaughterhouse in Vernon, California. Farmer John, which ceased to ship by rail 1995, is scheduled to close early in 2023.

The BNCP came back light power in the afternoon and was tasked with saving the previous night's Tramp Job that left a train in the Commercial Yard. The BNCP crew shoved in with the GP60Ms, but decided to swap with the tramp's SD60Ms for the trip back to Northtown.
Maybe 60 feet above me here but for several hours previously, 'Black 01' had been up at around 60,000 feet and probably more

CN S709 charges up Steelton Hill with a pair of SD60s pulling hard on an empty molten sulfur train. Earlier in the day, this duo brought A438 down from Ranier to Pokegama and were later assigned to this unit train.

A quartet of potent GP60 series EMDs pull a hot intermodal train eastbound at mile post 420, just west of Seligman, Arizona.
Through some localized snowsqualls, CP 6248 leads T78 through Innerkip, Ontario as they approach their destination of the Pender Toyota Yard. I'm not sure how I feel about SD60s on local trains, but any day I can just pretend this is a 147 in 2017 and move on, lol.

Three UP SD60s are the power for the A&S Transfer and are seen doubling up their train at 23rd Street Yard. The lead engine, #2184, is an SD62 rebuilt at Jenks with adjusted control stands and speedometers and rear ditch lights for long-hood forward operation.

This didn't turn out anything like I'd envisioned it in my head. But I'm ok with that. Because the shots that were more in keeping with my original idea really weren't doing it for me. So there you go. Unexpected results.

A tip from Dave Schauer got me out of the house on Sunday for a go at the Ranier Local, with four SD60's leading, along with a couple of ore motors returning from Winnipeg. It was high sun, and no really good angles available but I got this one with the drone and another at the crossing with the camera.
