A misty morning in portugal...

I took this image a year ago after Christmas from the balcony of my mom's home in Schuders, a small mountain village located in the Swiss Alps near the Austrian border. It's beautiful up there.

I processed a photographic and a balanced HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Last summer we had a rainy sunset in my hometown Schuders, located in the Swiss Alps near the Austrian border. Parts of the mountains were illuminated by the sun, parts in the shade of clouds. Neighbors approached our home, we invited them for dinner.

I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

This coming Saturday we will go again to launch rockets at the Snow Ranch in the California Central Valley. The ranch is huge with 3000 acres / 1200 hectares. At our last visit in the beginning of January I took this photo of a lonely black oak tree. Anybody interested in joining us on Saturday?

I processed a surreal HDR photo from three RAW exposure, added some vignetting and played with the color balance to give the scene serene old look.

Last September we spent 2 1/2 days at a camp with rocket enthusiasts at the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. I got up very early to catch the sunrise. I am a night owl, so this was not an easy task. In two weeks we'll be there again.

I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure. Although I took bracketed exposures I used just one, the underexposed one to get the deep red color of the sky.

Last September we headed to Fort Bragg, a coastal town in northern California. The glass beach is supposed to have lots of polished sea glass, but we could not find much. There is however an interesting ocean pool, perfect for a reflection shot.

We had nice clouds just after some rain in the Silicon Valley. I headed to Alviso, hoping the clouds would lift for a sunset shoot, but that didn't pan out. I stayed until darkness, and took this shot while waiting for the next train to pass.

I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW long exposure, then applied a filter to get this mystical wormwood look.

After going to an entrepreneurship event in San Francisco I went to nearby Mission Creek. There are houseboats since the sixties, now surrounded by new development. This is the view from the houseboat area towards AT&T Park.

In 2018 I went for a 10 km hike in the Swiss Alps along a ridge separating Appenzell and St. Gallen. To get there I took a gondola lift from Frümsen, then hiked south when the clouds just started to clear up. You can see the trail on the ridge crest in a distance. Usually the light is not that good in midday, but this time it was an interesting play of lights and shadows.

Recently we went to the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco for a photowalk. There are many artful objects in the park to capture. Two people where just to leave the tunnel.

What a rarity to see at a car show!

St Mary's Cathedral near Japantown in San Francisco has quite an impressive architecture. We went there to see Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel exhibition. We had to wait to get in, so I took the opportunity to wander around to marvel at the wonder.

We had some rainy days in the Swiss Alps when I visited my hometown last summer. I headed to nearby Fanas, a mountain village with 400 souls, located on the side of the Prättigau valley in the canton of Graubünden. It's fun taking photos in the rain.
