I frequently go to beautiful Hakone Gardens in Saratoga, California. There is a small cascading waterfall surrounded by beautiful shrubs.

On my trip to the Swiss Alps near the Austrian border last year I was jet lagged, I woke up early, and started an hike before sunrise up the mountain from my hometown Schuders. I reached the top of the mountain ridge shortly after sunrise.

I processed a realistic, a photographic, and a paintery HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

A shot of some flowers, on the edge of a road. Enlightened, by the afternoon sun, wet by the rain, falling timidly from the sky, they saw people pass by and time on that road.

Photo taken, with the Sony a6000 and the lens 16-50mm.

Taken in late afternoon, while on a bike ride in Boulder County, Colorado.

To combine photography and long bicycle rides, especially in the fall when the late afternoon sun is low and the light and clouds are more interesting and sometimes even dramatic, is truly delightful! I love that I can fit this relatively small mirrorless camera into the back pocket of my cycling jersey... and hit the road!

Autumn is a season of colors, where all the trees give us a palette of colors from yellows, to oranges and reds, changing landscapes completely. The photo I took when the light further intensifies the colors of the leaves to 50 mm with the objective of the kit.

Yesterday we went to the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge at Alviso for sunset. On the way back we stopped at an industrial railway track. Using an LED floodlight, we created this light painting along the tracks. Time flies when you have fun. Experiment and experience the moment my friends!

The other day I joined a fun a photowalk on beautiful Mt. Tamalpais near Mill Valley, north of San Francisco. We were a big group, disbursed on several hills around the mountain. This is the view toward the ocean from near the parking lot. To me, the hill looks like a giant horseback.

Two years ago I went back to my hometown Schuders, a small village in the Swiss Alps. A windy one-lane mountain road leads up to the village. On the way you pass the Salginatobel Bridge, a reinforced concrete arch bridge designed by Swiss civil engineer Robert Maillart. It was constructed across an alpine valley between 1929 and 1930. In 1991, it was declared an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, the thirteenth such structure and the first concrete bridge so designated. Stanford University has a beautiful campus, good for photo shoots. This is the Memorial Court at night while the sprinklers are on.

California has a big drought problem. 94% of the state is currently in drought status severe or higher (D2-D4). And it will get worse this summer. The snow pack level is at 6% of the normal average at this time of the year. Last week Governor Brown announced a mandatory water cut of 25%. Water use as seen in this photo will hopefully be a thing of the past.
