While I spent quite a bit of time wandering around the cool little town of Tecolote, New Mexico, I found next to nothing of any ruins that might have officially been associated with te Pre-137 alignment of Route 66. The town's emphasis is more on it's attachment to the Santa Fe Trail.
Except maybe this. Don't know what it was originally.

Route 390 is set to become the fourth route in London to be converted to New Bus for London, with a planned date of Saturday 7th December. One month before the conversion, on Monday 4th November, Metroline's VPL593, a Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President allocated to Holloway (HT) Garage is seen heading along York Way, having just passed under the railway bridge which gives Eurostar trains (one of which can be seen in the photo) and Southern HighSpeed trains on the High Speed One line access to and from St Pancras International. The arrival of High Speed One at St Pancras in November 2008, and the restoration of St Pancras and Kings Cross Stations, has kick-started a regeneration of the area, and some of the new developments on the former Railway Lands can be seen in the background.
Route 390 is a relative newcomer to the London Bus scene, having first seen the light of day on 1st February 2003 as the replacement for the northern section of route 10 when that route went driver only, marking the beginning of the end for regular Routemaster operation in London. The 10 itself only appeared in August 1988 when the lengthy 73 was diverted away from Hammersmith to terminate at Victoria, and the section from Kings Cross to Archway was initially covered by Garage journeys only.
As introduced, the 390 was Routemaster-operated by Holloway (HT) Garage between Archway Station and Marble Arch, becoming London's last new route, and the only one numbered in the 300s, to be operated by Routemasters. It moved to a new base off York Way, Kings Cross (very close to where this photo was taken) from 29th March 2003, and the inevitable conversion to Driver-only came on 3rd September 2004. It was extended to Notting Hill Gate from 6th November 2004 to partially replace route 12 when that route was converted to bendybus operation and cut back to Oxford Circus. Since 10th July 2010 the route has been back at HT, as the base at Kings Cross moved to a new location which was unsuitable for double-deckers - it did a straight swap with the 214.

Route 66 in Shamrock, Texas.
"The U-Drop Inn, also known as Tower Station and U-Drop Inn and Tower Café, was built in 1936 in Shamrock, Texas along the historic Route 66 highway. Inspired by the image of a nail stuck in soil, the building was designed by J. C. Berry. An unusual example of art deco architecture applied to a gas station and restaurant, the building features two flared towers with geometric detailing, curvilinear massing, glazed ceramic tile walls, and neon light accents. It has traditionally held two separate business: "Tower Station," a gas station on the western side, and the "U-Drop Inn," a café on the eastern side. Though it has passed hands several times in its history, the building has consistently housed the same types of businesses it was originally constructed for."

From Arriva's Website:
19 January 2012
Following the announcement today by the Cowie family Arriva’s chief executive, David Martin said: “We are extremely saddened by the news that Arriva’s founder, Sir Tom Cowie, has passed away.
“Sir Tom was a dedicated and talented businessman whose determination and vision built his small family motorcycle business, T Cowie Ltd, into a successful national motor retailing chain and laid the foundations for Arriva’s international business today.
“Following Sir Tom’s retirement from the group in 1993 he became our honorary president. Whilst this was not an active role on the board, Sir Tom remained interested in and supportive of Arriva’s successful expansion into new passenger transport markets.
“Sir Tom will be sadly missed and our thoughts are with his family.”
Sir Tom passed away on Wednesday 18 January 2012 aged 89.
Notes to editors:
* In 1938 the Cowie family opened a second-hand motorcycle shop in Sunderland.
* In 1960 the company – still called Cowie – moved into motor retailing.
* In 1980 Cowie started to purchase bus companies with the acquisition of the Grey-Green bus company in London. Over the next few years, there were more bus company acquisitions, with the biggest – British Bus Group plc – in 1996 making the business one of the largest bus operators in the UK.
* Sir Tom Cowie left the group in 1993.
* Arriva was born in 1997, bringing together many different company backgrounds under the Arriva flag and the group acquired its first business in mainland Europe – Unibus Holdings in Denmark.
* In 1999 Arriva decided to focus its management and financial resources to enable the group to capitalise on opportunities in passenger transport in the UK and mainland Europe. In line with this the group disposed of a number of major motor retailing and finance businesses. This process was completed by the summer of 2003 and the sale of its vehicle rental division followed in 2006.
* Arriva is one of the largest providers of passenger transport in Europe, employing some 47,500 people and delivering more than 1.5 billion passenger journeys every year.
* We provide transport services including buses, trains, commuter coaches and waterbuses, and operate in 12 European countries: Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
* Arriva is part of Deutsche Bahn, one of the world’s leading passenger transport and logistics service providers. Headquartered in Sunderland, UK, Arriva is responsible for Deutsche Bahn's regional passenger transport services outside Germany.
