The East Window: "Jesus Crucified and Crowned"
There are several interesting windows in the round nave, some pre-Victorian. But the most striking window is only about 50 years old. The East Window in the choir replaces one destroyed by a bomb in 1942 and is by Nicholson and Smith to a design by either Smith or Paul.

What luck... first days shooting with the 8mm fisheye in the bag and I find myself in a round room!
This was shot just before the start of a secondary school dance showcase at Queen Margrets School, Escrick.
The show involved 188 pupils from accross the North Yorkshire region.
180 degrees in all directions is WIDE, it took a while to get a shot without my feet in, or the flash head, or my legs etc...
This fine tower, built of mica-slate interspersed with granite is about 30 metres high, with an entrance 3.5 metres from the base. The conical roof was rebuilt in 1876 using the original stones. The tower originally had six timber floors, connected by ladders. The four storeys above entrance level are each lit by a small window; while the top storey has four windows facing the cardinal compass points. Round towers, landmarks for approaching visitors, were built as bell towers, but also served on occasion as store-houses and as places of refuge in times of attack.

Pakistani Peridot 1.9ct., 7.8x7.8x5.2mm. (Per240) Custom Round.
I used this Paki peridot to test-cut at design for the Syn. Pad sapphire suite earlier in this photostream. I had no particular reason to use peridot except that this rough was just looking at me wondering why it was *still* on my bench.
Iron Within, Iron Without!
Here's the Iron Warriors chapter icon on a round background. Sculpted from polymer clay and cast in resin. Measures a little over 2" diameter.
I've made several shots of this ride during the past few years and was never really happy with any of them, until this year.
I realized what was bothering me in the past was that I did a 30 second exposure which resulted in a large white circular blur.
For this shot, I didn't use a long shutter speed, instead going with something in the 1/10 of a second range. I'm much happier now that I can see the riders, even if they are blurred, which is what I had wanted all along.
The reason it looks odd is because the chancel is missing. This is my sort of place: remote, uncluttered with people and set beautifully in the Norfolk landscape. Fortunately it was open - but you need to be a weight lifter to shift the door.

The ellusive 1991 Northern Ireland issue with the flax in coronet. Turned up in Nicola's change today, so theoretically only the 2006 issue NI with the egyptian arch on the back and the 1988 crown over shield and thats all the one pounds variations I'll have had in my change
Designed this to print (using Lightscribe CDs) onto my final FYP CD hand-in. Any advice/cristisim/opinion from anybody?

Altus colors:
Wie ist der Himmel farblos, trübe. Der doch bei Tage hell gelacht. Die Wolken ziehen tränenmde.
Gleich stummen Betern durch die Nacht.
Ihre Köpfchen lässt die Blume hangen. Kein Blatt bewegt sich mehr am Baum.
Die Wellen nur zu meinen Füßen. Sie küssen leise sich im Traum.
Versunken steht der Wald im Schweigen. Der Vöglein Lied ist längst verstummt.
Nur matt aus geisterhafter Ferne. Herüber eine Glocke summt.
Anbetend fall ich in die Knie. Und weine still ins feuchte Moos;
Wie lieb ich euch, ihr frommen Nächte. So ruhig weich und sternenlos.
