This round barn was built by the Ehlers family of Lancaster County Nebraska. The barn is located between the city of Lincoln and town of Bennet. Some of the materials for the barn came from old street car rails and the state capitol building in Lincoln that was being disassembled at the time this barn was being constructed.
I've always liked the look of rounded rocks over the flatter squarish ones, when it comes to balances. It's probably that it takes more patients and looks more like they're defying the laws of gravity.
The unique Kinneigh Round Tower is located approx. 5 km northwest of the villages of Enniskean and Ballineen in West Cork, Ireland, on a side road just to the south of R 588. It was built on the site of a monastery founded by St. Colman (Macolmog), and is unique in that the lower 18 feet are hexagonal and the upper section round. The round tower has a square headed doorway and an internal ladder, access to which is closed, leads to the top. This was altered in the last century to make a belfry.
The merry-go-round is a permanent fixture in Garema Place in Canberra. It was busier than I've ever seen it on Saturday evening during the National Multicultural Festival.
The Round House was the first permanent building built in the Swan River Colony. Built in late 1830 and opened in 1831, it is the oldest building still standing in Western Australia.
It is located at Arthur Head in Fremantle, and recent heritage assessments and appraisals of the precinct of the Round House incorporate Arthur Head.
The Round House was used for colonial and indigenous prisoners until 1886, when control of the Convict Establishment prison (now Fremantle Prison) was transferred to the colony. After that the Round House was used as a police lockup until 1900, when it became the living quarters for the chief constable and his family.

Downbound on the Walter J. McCarthy Jr. at 7:15am we get beautiful morning light on the Round Island Lighthouse and residence. Several years ago, the owners finished a multi-year renovation and offered the 9-acre island and residence for sale. It appears to remain up for sale and multiple web sites list it for anywhwere from $1.5M to $2.5M. The following link has many pictures and a video of the restored 2,000-sq. ft. residence.

When I was a kid, every time we passed a round barn, my grandpa would say, "A man died in there. Do you know why?" ...(dramatic pause)... "He couldn't find a corner to pee in." :D

" 'Round Midnight est un standard de jazz composé et enregistré pour la première fois par Thelonious Monk en 1944. Il l'aurait composé entre 1940 et 1941, mais selon Harry Colomby, Monk l'aurait écrit en 1936 à 19 ans, et appelé alors « Grande Finale ».
On retrouve parfois ce morceau sous le titre Around Midnight ou Round About Midnight."
