This unfinished cooling tower at Chernobyl, where we visited for exploring interesting places near my work
Looking across the capped tops of the bars of an aluminium fence at the Thebarton Oval, with the green grass in the background.
In Australia, we call our sports stadium an "oval" because that is its shape.
Another view of the former administrative building of the HypoVereinsbank, currently under renovation as part of the revitalisation of the Tucherparkviertel under the project name Eisbachviertel.
The area was initially developed end of the 1960ties by the Bayerische Vereinsbank (became HypoVereinsbank, now Unicredit Bank) with office spaces and a hotel. Most of the buildings are empty, under renovation and they are listed structures nowadays.

There seems to be some wish to see it the other way up. Personally I don't really think it works. The point is that it is a refraction and so upside down, and one gets away with imperfections. This one is definitely not perfect enough.

..the starling ..a sociable bird, very communicative can imitate sounds,,he builds the nest and she decorates them...they are simply impressive birds...
Day 25. This is the spiral pedestrian ramp in the town centre in Uxbridge. I photographed this at the beginning of the year and I wanted to revisit at the blue hour to get a different feel www.flickr.com/photos/hartwellphotography/16485021456/in/.... I like the way the yellow light makes the bridge look like its painted gold.
The 1923 Lingotto building once housed a Fiat assembly plant - the ramp was part of the manufacturing. During its day, it was the largest car factory in the world.
This ramp was featured in the 1969 movie The Italian Job.
Today this section of the building is a mall.
This shot pushed the limits of my old Sony RX100 camera but was happy to have captured.
It wasn't the best time to photograph the moon since it was almost as far away as it can get from the Earth when full this year. Never heard the term before but I discovered it is called a Micro Moon. Looking forward to the November Super Moon.

I considered posting one more snow image, but instead decided to go into my archives and post something very different for me. I took this while on a road trip around Vancouver Island last September. I can pretty much bet you didn't know this was mine when you first saw it :)
Quartier du Polet, Dieppe. Un déjeuner chez un ami qui a ouvert un restaurant que je conseille : La Cale. Atour une ambiance de port sous la brume. Le Polet est un vrai quartier populaire qui n'as pas encore été poli par la tendance vintage post BoBo... ça ne saurait tarder !

District Polet, Dieppe. Lunch with a friend who opened a restaurant that I recommend: The Cale. Atmosphere around a port in the mist. The Polet is a real popular area which has not yet been polished by the trend vintage post BoBo ... it will not be long!

This is the famed "Round Rock" that the city was named after. I looked it up and it seems that I didn't have the story right.
In 1851, a small community was formed on the banks of Brushy Creek, near a large round and anvil-shaped rock located in the middle of the creek. This round rock marked a convenient low-water crossing for wagons, horses, and cattle. The first postmaster called the community "Brushy," and the creek was called "Brushy Creek". But in 1854, at the suggestion of the postmaster, the small settlement was renamed Round Rock in honor of this now famous rock. After the Civil War, Jesse Chisholm began moving cattle from South Texas through Round Rock on the way to Abilene, Kansas. The route he established, which crossed Brushy Creek at the round rock, became known as the Chisholm Trail.[17] Most of the old buildings, including the old Saint Charles Hotel, have been preserved. This historic area is now called "Old Town.
