The circuit around Mer Bleue is about 1km, all duckboard covering the bog. In the winter the duckboards are covered with lots of snow and are not visible. Often the snow is two or three feet deep if you step off the path and it can be difficult to extricate yourself. At the end of the day, when the sun is going down and I am the only person at the location, I often pause to think before making the last round because I would not wish to become trapped in the snow, in the dark, overnight.

Last week we made an evening round with dogs near Ruhpolding. On the way to the Hochfelln we came along this small peak called "Spitziger Stein".

Yesterday we had lunch at my favourite vintage diner, the Round-Up in Surrey. I had borscht, cabbage rolls and perogies, so good, best Ukrainian style food in the lower mainland in my opinion plus I get to imagine my Dad here in his younger days :)
