for the BDC-Challenge "Taken From Below"
vaulted stuccoed ceiling od the "Schimmelmann-Mausoleum" in Hamburg-Wandsbek.
It's nearby my home, but it is only open for visitors for two hours on a couple of sundays every year. So today was the first time i saw the interior of the mausoleum!
Sedesowce means "toilet seats" in Polish, referring to the rounded window frames in Manhattan Estate, Wrocław, Poland.

*[I have a little backlog of 'sail ship captures' so I think I'll start a little sail-series, right now. It was a joy to see them all out on the harbor]
History: Designed and built by Scarano Boat Inc. in Albany, N.Y., the America 2.0 had big shoes to fill. Its 1995 predecessor, the 139-foot America (now berthed in Santa Barbara) won the hearts and minds of many islanders on and off the docks. That ship replicated the original America, a 101-foot sailing vessel that won an 1851 race against 15 yachts of the Royal Yacht Squadron in what would become known forever as the "America's Cup" in honor of that ship. The 1851 original America ended up a blockade-runner for the Confederacy and after the Yankees seized her, became a blockade-buster for the federals. She remained government property until falling victim to a shed collapse in 1945, and with the shed was scrapped and burned. A 170 year history with two replicas built.
America 2.0 (105 feet) replaced the 1995 replica schooner America (139 feet). The '95 replica is now berthed in Santa Barbara, California
The America 2.0, the Adirondack III, the Western Union, the Appledore and many other tall ships are credited with helping
to keep Key West's maritime traditions alive for years to come

This is the first block I received in a round robin. I hope Jane likes what I did and yes I did the tatting.
I had to use a fair amount of photoshop. The carousal was so ornate that it was impossible to see the horse properly without isolating it a bit (see below.) The good news is that this old carousel was bang in the middle of a crazy funfair - amid a cacophony of blaring music, candyfloss and scary rides. It was nice to see it holding it's own amid all the latest attractions.
In the centre of this photo you can see the tower of Christiansborg Palace - I have shown you photos of this building before so I won't bore you again with too much information! But I want to just say that I found out the reason for all the Danish flags is it happened to be 5th June, which is the Danish Constitution Day! The day honours the Constitution of Denmark, as both the first constitution of 1849 and the current constitution of 1953 were signed on this date of their respective years. Denmark is one of only a handful countries in the world not to have an official national day, but Constitution Day is sometimes considered the equivalent of such a day, and a day for celebrating Danish democracy.
The tower on the right is theChurch of the Holy Spirit (Danish: Helligåndskirken), which is one of the city's oldest churches. I'm sorry I can't identify any of the other buildings in the shot apart from the dome of Christiansborg Slotskirke.
EMR 908 rolls across the Penobscot River into Mattawamkeag, Maine, through some decent snowfall. This bridge structure is quite unique due to its round topped design.
