My first visit to some sites in Portsmouth I've been hoping to shoot for a while now. Went last night with Andy, I'm very pleased with the results.

There was a kiddy party going on at Central Park with balloons everywhere!
This picture was inspired by my girlfriend who recently picked up photography as a hobby.

The Winchester Round Table is a large tabletop hanging in Winchester Castle and bearing the names of various knights of Arthur's court, was probably created for a Round Table tournament. The table is 5.5 metres (18 ft) in diameter and weighs 1.2 tonnes (2,600 lb). The current paintwork is late; it was done by order of King Henry VIII of England. The table itself is considerably older; dendrochronology calculates the date of construction to 1250–1280—during the reign of Edward I of England—using timbers that were felled over a period of years. Edward was an Arthurian enthusiast who attended at least five Round Tables and hosted one himself in 1299, which may have been the occasion for the creation of the Winchester Round Table. Martin Biddle, from an examination of Edward's financial accounts, links it instead with a tournament King Edward held near Winchester on 20 April 1290, to mark the betrothal of one of his daughters
...the Medieval Villagers had quite a time.
After feeding the Barbarians, they had to round up the goats that Charlie had let loose.
Charlie was no where to be seen. He was probably off somewhere again getting into trouble.
[hmmmm, I see something that doesn't belong in the village!]
For the fifth and final trip of the day, I wanted to do something different, so I decided to take up a position to catch IAIS 6988 in full steam as it departed Annawan. With my Sigma 150-600 already attached to my 70D for a planned distance shot outside of Geneseo, I took up position on the west side of town by the "Welcome to Annawan" sign and behind some scrub brush to get out of anyone else's way that might be wanting to incorporate the sign into their shots. The distance here made for the perfect opportunity to dig out my 70-200 f2.8 for my ancient 6D. In order to get up to speed, 6988 backed up a block or two before pouring on the steam to get up to speed.
From a February 2024 trip to Sequoia National Park to photograph the trees after a winter storm. This is from the Big Trees Trail, which is a short loop that circles Round Meadow. While this trail is only .7 miles long it has some of the most photogenic trees in the park!
