Some days I forget where I'm going vs. where I really am. These days I don't run too far and I sure miss it. I have days like today when, if I wasn't tied down I would be in my truck so fast, hooked to a spread and headed to the coast it would make even my head spin. Some days, like today, I have to remind myself that I am tied down! And then I wonder how the heck that happened...
After years of running the west coast my mind is still there and the rest of me would love to go back again. It's like I have flash backs (or forwards I'm not sure) and I'm sitting in New Mexico, on the side of the road taking a break or I have just gone through Tehachapi on my way into Bakersfield in the middle of the night with my windows rolled down. I can smell the flowers and bushes blooming and the warm spring air is kissing my face which is still cold from the long winter that I hope is behind me in Minnesota... Ahh, trucking gotta love it!
This picture is of one of my old trucks. Just found out she was totaled last winter out in New Mexico close to where this picture was taken. It was right up there with what I have now as far as power and legs go. She was a good 'ol truck and she could roll with the best of them!

Another day of gloomy weather, another day of illness, but somehow I can’t ever stay inside.
I noticed something walking home today through the medieval graveyard on the way back from lunch, inside buildings I am acutely aware of myself as a contained entity, thoughts and feelings bound up in skin and bone. I see myself and hear myself, but outside I feel malleable and blended into my surroundings, not distinct at all. I was told long ago that this graveyard is the most haunted in Edinburgh, is this what a ghost feels? A nebulous entity, sliding in and out of it’s surroundings, mixing, watery and clear.
This is a minimalist long exposure photo of a restless ocean and intense storm clouds forming, two magnificently powerful elements colliding and yet so soothing to observe. This photo was taken in Kwazulu Natal, South Coast, South Africa on the 27th of Mar 2014.
Shot in Los Molinos, close-by Tefia in Fuerteventura. It is an out-of-the-way fishing village with no electricity, no clean running water and no cell phone coverage.
This breath is not smooth, this mind not still.
The dust is heavy beneath the bed.
Even in the storm, I sit and breathe.
New life is near. I bow my head.

Restlessness - like boredom is never good!
I am extremely restless and maybe a little lonely tonight for no apparent reason. Hm....
I'm surprised how well the photo itself came out seeing as the only light source was from my Powerbook.
So there was this one time when we were wandering through the Underdark and we stumbled across a crack in the wall that led into this ancient old crypt.
Of course, Zissiren wanted to go see if there was any loot in the tomb. And, of course, he disturbed somebody's restless ancestor.
That was a tough fight. I doubt we would've survived it if it hadn't been for Trixie. The thing made Trog wet himself and run to cower in a corner! And all it had to do was touch Zissiren and he was out like a drow caught in the sunlight!
But I managed to hold it off long enough for Trixie to perform some creepy ritual that made my spine crawl and then, with Tiamat's aid, we put that restless spirit back to sleep.
Hopefully Zissiren will think twice before running into the next ancient burial ground we come across.
I am extremely glad to be home for the holidays. But no matter how long I sleep, I STILL can't get enough! Oh well, I'll keep trying I guess. Facebook.

Wind tears loose snow from the summit ridge of Mount Rundle in Banff National Park, lifting it into the sky as a pale plume against approaching cloud. For a moment the peak appears alive, exhaling into the Bow Valley as weather slides across the Rockies.
The layered limestone face catches the last light while the upper air remains restless, revealing the invisible currents shaping the range. What reads as stillness from afar is constant motion up close — stone holding firm while winter moves around it.
Photographed during a brief break in the clouds when the mountain showed both its structure and its atmosphere at once.

My bed was never made. I was a some sort of mess.
Rabies vaccination in dogs and cats is of paramount importance. In usa has been infected with rabies and in recent years dozens of cases of rabies-infested animals have been discovered that have not been immunized by a emergency vet as required by law, infecting all mammals including humans and caused by RNA virus. Transmission of the disease is mainly caused by biting, but the clinical signs are not specific but can cause neurological spasms and signs, rabies is incurable and in the case of clinical signs, the disease can not be treated.
Emergency vet think that The cause of rabies is viral and belongs to a family of RNA viruses and is one of the first diseases to be developed against the vaccine in 1885. The disease affects all mammals and it is now known that every few minutes a person dies in the world of rabies, especially in developing countries. The spread of the virus is global and can be transmitted by any individual belonging to the mammals (eg, dogs, cats, foxes, cows, etc.).
How do you get the disease? How does the disease progress?
1.The virus is secreted in the infected animal's saliva. The transmission is carried out by an animal bite whose saliva contains the virus or by contact with the saliva with exposed wounds. The virus migrates in the nervous system toward the spinal cord, where it proliferate quickly and rises toward the brain. When it reaches the brain, clinical signs begin to appear and the virus is secreted in the animal's saliva, sometimes the secretion of saliva occurs before the onset of clinical signs (sometimes even two weeks before).
2. The time from the bite to the onset of the signs can last from one day to the next, depending on the distance of the bitten area and the amount of virus injected (bite more than licking).
What are the clinical signs of rabies infection?
The disease can affect any mammal of any age. The clinical signs are not very specific and can be
Primary signs - restlessness, lack of eating, personality changes and vomiting and vomiting
In more advanced stages - depression, extreme restlessness, demancy, aggression, change of voice, fearless attack, difficulties in swallowing and eating, eating feces and non-food items.
In humans, the main clinical signs are fear of water (hydrophobia). Patients with the disease can not drink even a glass of water and are affected by paralyzing fear as a result of contact with water.
What is the reccommand treatment of the rabid animal by emergency vet?
Emergency vet do not treat an animal suspected of rabies and we send it to quarantine for about 10 days to see if the animal develops clinical signs that are suspicious of the disease.
A person bitten by a suspected rabid animal must go to the Ministry of Health and receive a passive vaccination against rabies as soon as possible. As soon as clinical signs appear, the disease is incurable.
