More isolated than I've ever been in my entire life, and feeling the strain of it.
I wish Santa was real and he'd send me a car so I could escape lol
This breath is not smooth, this mind not still.
The dust is heavy beneath the bed.
Even in the storm, I sit and breathe.
New life is near. I bow my head.
While shooting this gang of naughty schoolboys, everyone of them trying to get a room in front of the camera, pushing each other, and the whole thing energies into a funny moment.

Well I've been throughout this land / North & east & back again / Roamin' around in my old Volkswagen (SongDogs)
The SongDogs chose this photograph as cover shot for their new record. The release of this all new record "Restless No More" will take place at the Filmbühne am Steinplatz, Berlin, on June 20th, 2009.

Alongside the road I must have passed 10 "rest if tired" traffic signs and when the traffic police came flying past I wondered what happened...
Luckily the driver did not seem to be seriously hurt and I suspect he dozed of under the strain on getting to his destination on a tight deadline.

The next chapter in my portfolio is an extensive collection of sepia monotone photos taken throughout South Africa, the continuation of taking photographs anywhere and everywhere I find the opportunity to do so....
an ever increasing consumerism and minimal government support around the world has forced the elders to work in their dotage. An old lady who cant even stand properly is cleaning the table at a restaurant in local wet market. In such hardship only her old friends comes to patronize her economically and support her socially .

R.J. Matson is the editorial cartoonist at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The New York Observer and Roll Call. His cartoons and illustrations have appeared in many other publication, including The New Yorker, The Nation, MAD Magazine, City Limits, The Daily News, The Washington Post, Washington City Paper, Capital Style, and Rolling Stone.
R.J. has created the cover art for 19 CDs put out by the Capitol Steps comedy troupe, and he has illustrated several books, most notably Millenials Rising, 13th Gen-Abort, Retry, Ignore, Fail?, The Single Woman's Guide to the Available Men of Washington, and How to Satisfy a Woman Every Time on Five Dollars a Day.
Born in Chicago in 1963 , Robert John Matson was raised in Brussels, Belgium and Minneapolis, Minnesota. He received a B.A. from Columbia University in 1985 and won a national Scholastic Press Association Award for cartoons he contributed to the Columbia Daily Spectator. R.J was also a visiting student at Pembroke College, Oxford University for one year.
He moved to Washington, DC in 1985 to work as a reporter for States News Service. In 1986 he became the staff illustrator at Roll Call and the editorial cartoonist at the Montgomery County Sentinel. He was the art director of The Washington Monthly from 1986 to 1988.
R.J. returned to New York City when he became the editorial cartoonist at The New York Observer in 1989. He moved to St. Louis in 2005, where he now lives with his wife Mari and their three children, Sofie, Gus and Milo.
He was recently the Secretary of the National Cartoonists Society, the Chairman of the New York Metro Chapter of the NCS, and a member of the Board of Advisors of the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art in Manhattan.

I'm getting into my Halloween groove...*+^ We had a Halloween type photoshoot, organized by Jason Griffith, at a local graveyard. He even supplied us with a couple of very willing and talented models (his son and daughter). Quite a bit of Halloween fun, and highly recommended...^+^
