I am extremely restless and maybe a little lonely tonight for no apparent reason. Hm....
I'm surprised how well the photo itself came out seeing as the only light source was from my Powerbook.
So there was this one time when we were wandering through the Underdark and we stumbled across a crack in the wall that led into this ancient old crypt.
Of course, Zissiren wanted to go see if there was any loot in the tomb. And, of course, he disturbed somebody's restless ancestor.
That was a tough fight. I doubt we would've survived it if it hadn't been for Trixie. The thing made Trog wet himself and run to cower in a corner! And all it had to do was touch Zissiren and he was out like a drow caught in the sunlight!
But I managed to hold it off long enough for Trixie to perform some creepy ritual that made my spine crawl and then, with Tiamat's aid, we put that restless spirit back to sleep.
Hopefully Zissiren will think twice before running into the next ancient burial ground we come across.
I am extremely glad to be home for the holidays. But no matter how long I sleep, I STILL can't get enough! Oh well, I'll keep trying I guess. Facebook.

[The chapter in which Texas Aggie Ring finds something to do with two “Pink Lady” apples we didn’t really want to eat.]
Jersey Shore Fightin’ Texas Aggie Ring and I were restless last night and couldn’t sleep. We got up and headed downstairs to the kitchen and opened the door of the refrigerator. There were two “Pink Lady” apples on the shelf left over from a Korean salad we made the other day. Normally, Aggie Ring and I don’t eat apples unless they’re included in something else.
“It’s a shame that they are going to go to waste.” said Aggie Ring. “Those “Pink Ladies” weren’t cheap.”
“They never are.” I told Aggie Ring. “Perhaps we could do an experiment to prove how gravity works.”
“I think that’s already been done.” he replied. “Wait! I know something we could do to those two apples that would make them edible.”
Aggie Ring had me peel and cut the apples into small pieces. Then, Aggie Ring heated up his “big ass” cast iron skillet and had me put five slices of thick-cut cherrywood smoked bacon into it. Aggie Ring jumped up onto the cast iron bacon press and pressed down on that sizzling bacon with as much force as a Texas Aggie Ring could muster.
“I’m only doing this to keep the bacon from curling up.” said Aggie Ring. “I hate it when that happens.”
After the bacon was cooked, Aggie Ring jumped onto it to make sure it was crisped to Aggie Ring specifications. Aggie Rings don’t like soggy, limp bacon. When he was sure it was done, Aggie Ring directed me to removed it from the skillet and put it on paper towels to drip.
All of a sudden, Aggie Ring told me, “Put the apple into the delicious bacon grease.”
“What? Are you mad?” I replied. I was afraid that there would be an explosion or at least a grease fire.
“I know what I’m doing. I’m an Aggie Ring damnit.” he said.
Aggie Ring threw in some sugar and spices and stirred the apples with a wooden spoon until they were nice and browned by the delicious bacon grease. Then he poured in a cup and a half of water and stirred everything until the apples were nice and soft. He deglazed the skillet with a little bit of balsamic vinegar and set it aside.
Then, in a smaller skillet, Aggie Ring threw in a tablespoon of unsalted butter and jumped upon it. He slid around the skillet like an olympic figure skater on ice. Once the butter had melted, Aggie Ring had me “beat the hell” out of two eggs and pour them into the skillet. When the eggs had set, Aggie Ring threw on some shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled up some of the bacon on one side. When the cheese was melted, he folded one side over and plated the omelette.
To finish up the omelette, Aggie Ring poured some of those delicious sweet bacon fat apples upon it and dusted it with more crumbled bacon.
“See.” said Aggie Ring. “I told you I knew something we could do with those two unwanted apples.”

The windows of my soul are ever revealing
What I want and what I think I don't.
If you look in them very closely you see something,
But a second longer I promise you won't.
It's not that I am fickle,
Or because my mind is remade
But because I become speckled,
Worn with wearisome age.
I may appear young in some kind of sense,
But the windows of my soul do not lie at my expense.

I feel like I've been painted over in a white wash today. There's a coat of old feeling lingering around me and I can't wait to shake it off. If I wasn't so tired I would try running. Instead I think I'll get more sleep since I finished the second book in the Hunger Games. Maybe, if I get really restless, I'll ask mom to buy me the third one tonight.
Lately I have had no time whats so ever for flickr. Plus I am out of town, this next week and the week after and then finally of to china!! Sorry for the few comments that I have left and I thank those for the continued support.

This is an old gas station
in downtown L.A. that I passed during
a somewhat lonely, desolate walk around
the mostly abandoned streets. I walked down
one long boulevard, empty of any noticeable
life forms, that crossed underneath a freeway
overpass, where a hooded man solitarily
was going through cardboard boxed filled with
clothes and other items. I thought about asking
for his photo, as is my usual inclination,
but sensed that he needed to be left alone,
and I walked on, drawn by the
burnt orange light of
this Shell Station on Santa Fe Street
in the distance
like a beacon of potential,
a sign of life,
beaming to me
across the sad, dark sea.
Then I went to a party.

School started two days ago, it's going pretty well so far. :)
I got put in a photography class and it's already giving me inspiration for pictures. (hopefully I'll take some over the weekend)
JUST realized I was tagged a while back... so if I tag you in this tell feel free to write favorite thing about going back to school on your next upload :)
Took photos with Mary for the first time! We had studio together at CHS; she's pretty rad. The photos of her are reference photos for a painting she had in mind.
This breath is not smooth, this mind not still.
The dust is heavy beneath the bed.
Even in the storm, I sit and breathe.
New life is near. I bow my head.

The interior of Youngs Chapel. I really don't know what happened with this shot. I assume a mixture of not enough light combined with not holding the camera steady, but it may be the 100 years of history of this church trying to be seen :)

GENESIS OF PROJECT Details from Navypedia
In July 1915 the Admiralty Board gave approval for all future destroyers to be engined with 2-shaft geared turbines, preferably Brown-Curtis. This far-sighted move was made only on the basis of the success of a year's service in Leonidas and Lucifer. The design for the next batch of destroyers was in other respects merely a duplication of the standard 'M' design, but with more flare and 0.3m more freeboard on the forecastle. Other improvements were to put the after 102mm gun on a 'bandstand', and a more robust bridge structure. The design which resulted was generally similar ro the war-built 'M' class, with three round funnels. Because the bridge was 2.7m wider than previously the 40mm pom-poms formerly mounted at the end of the forecastle could not be mounted, and so a single pom-pom replaced the 509mm searchlight on its platform between the TT. Some 'M' and 'R'class vessels had 2 356mm TT (one fixed on each beam) subsequently added at the break of the forecastle. The geared turbines were a great success, providing high speed with less cavitation and reduced fuel consumption. The lead-ship Romola maintained 36kts for 4 hours in light condition, and on her acceptance trials reached 32.5kts in deep load condition. Comparative trials run between Romola and Norman showed that the 'R' class used 15% less fuel at 18kts and 28% less at25kts, resulting in an increase of 17.8% and 40% of range. The Yarrow 'specials' were the only units to retain direct-drive turbines. Oil fuel was also increased compared with the 'M' class
