I know - what is with all these rest area stops. Iowa has some of the very best rest stops. WiFi and interesting themes to say the least. This rest area had a farm theme as depicted by some of the pictures I took. Check out Iowa Rest Areas and you will see what I mean.
A huge bug started to make resident in my hair at this stop. I found it in my hair because it was in a my sensitive spot. Freaked me and Nicki out.
I came to a crossroads in the middle of nowhere. I hadn't seen a person for hours and hadn't seen an occupied house for miles and miles. But here, out in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no farm close by, was some humor for any lost soul who happened to get lost on these country back roads. How funny :)

At this little rest area, there's a hidden waterfall in the picnic area. They don't really mention it on the signs for the rest area, it's only on one sign that's up the trail a ways. If you don't know there's a waterfall here, you'd probably never find it.
Gans, OK- I-40 E Bound as drivers can take a break from driving here at a rest area just before the freeway enters Mulgrow, OK. This is the final rest stop along the highway in the Sooner State.
This rest area, on Interstate 40 about 50 miles east of Amarillo, is built into the side of a hill. I guess it keeps it warm and protected from the wicked north winds blowing in from the High Plains. I guess we should have stopped to learn more, but we had a plane to catch.
A tribute to the Dutch-style windmills in the history of wind power in Iowa, as told at a rest area about an hour west of Des Moines.
It is true. An open air museum with replicas from famous old churches in the district all in a park in a highway rest area, and it is free. Here you can see more about this: www.bernezac.com/ArtRoman_uk.htm / Wirklich wahr. Ein Romanisches Kunstmuseum mit hochwertigen Replikaten aus Kirchen in einem Park, einfach so am Rastplatz. Franzoesische Autobahnen sind voller Ueberraschungen.

I know enough French to discern that meaning something about discovering the national capital. You need to keep in mind the Quebecois often consider themselves a nation unto themselves, you see more Quebec flags than you do Canada flags.
