At this little rest area, there's a hidden waterfall in the picnic area. They don't really mention it on the signs for the rest area, it's only on one sign that's up the trail a ways. If you don't know there's a waterfall here, you'd probably never find it.

I know - what is with all these rest area stops. Iowa has some of the very best rest stops. WiFi and interesting themes to say the least. This rest area had a farm theme as depicted by some of the pictures I took. Check out Iowa Rest Areas and you will see what I mean.
I love the crisp, functional typography used by the Washington DoT on their signs. Helvetica used to good effect.
Also home to a geocache called Duder's Gone.

View west from the Welcome Center shows the Earthen Tioga Dam and outflow into the Tioga River. The Corps of Engineers cut a flow through between the two lakes to allow reservoir balancing.
We are still in Texas. Texas has the best rest stops. I'd missed getting shots of the rest area with oil derricks over the picnic tables.
Oregon usually has good rest stops, but I'm not too sure about this one. Would have tried it out, but after the rains I think it might have been a bit soggy.
