Sign at a New Mexico rest area. Watch for Rattlesnakes!

I took pictures of the rest area on the way home from the tournament in Fremont. Not sure where this is, but it must be in west Michigan. I love the old fashioned lit signs. Yeah, I take pics of rest areas...

I-80 Rest Area near Lime City, IA (east of West Branch, IA birthplace of President Herbert Hoover).

This rest stop was very interesting place to stop and walk around. It was quite beautiful and the colors were alive all around us.

At a rest stop in central Iowa there are these really unique lanterns all over this expansive park. They all have unique geometric designs cut out of iron and wrapped around light. I want to drive back through some time and see them at night.

I spent my Veterans' Day with my Veteran moving the bulk of the stuff out of my apartment.

Read the misspelled sign on this Okla. rest area. And the restrooms were closed.

General Christopher C. Andrews successfully lobbied the state of Minnesota to protect its forests, and this rest area on I-35 in Pine County is named in his honor.

Not as robust as I was expecting.

The rest areas in the country have improved quite a bit since we started taking long road trips (15 years ago!). Iowa has especially nice ones with large areas to walk dogs, Wi-Fi, and RV dump stations. We've even found a few that have trails to hike on!
