My first creation, learning on Patrean, 9X11" pastel pencils

My first fox! I'v been trying to get a shot at one for a while, and finally found one near my house! This is cropped, and I was zoomed in as far as possible with a 75-300. I was hoping he'd get closer, but about halfway across the field he looked right at me, barked, and then went diagonally the other direction up the hill..Hopefully I'll see him again!

He stayed there so long that eventually desided that it was safe enough to lie down and watch. The sun was going down which lit everything red, made the red rocks even redder.

PEI is full of foxes. In the past there were a lot of fox farms so when fox fur was no longer viable the farmers let them go. The only other enemy would be coyotes.

A vixen and her five kits at their den under my neighbor's backyard gazebo.

This is a female Red Fox which I photographed in April in our yard. She had been visiting an old bird feeder of ours hoping to catch a squirrel. She had been nursing, too. We saw one of her kits one night in May.

This guy was taking a nap.
