Here's my completed Redfox triptych, still oozing with a little blood and ink. Kevin pulled out all the stops on the magic bolts gathering in the Demon Queen's hands. I love the contrast between the warm colors of Redfox, the cool colors of Whitefox, and the bleached-out, subzero colors of the Demon Queen.
One of the two foxes that were in the garden today... this one is very recognisable as it has a big chunk out of its ear!
Taken in our Maineville, Ohio backyard 2-1-07. I had to crank the ISO all the way to 1600, due to the lighting conditions.
This female Red Fox had six kits in the den, and would literally fall asleep on her feet when she would take a breather from “den duty”
This detail shot shows the color work Kevin was able to accomplish on my chest piece despite my constant squirming. The ribs, as I learned this day, are one of the most painful places to be tattooed.
This fox was in stealth mode .... until something interesting snuck through the grass. Seconds later "the quick red fox" had jumped.... onto a big fat mouse ... not exactly the line we typed in high school typing class!
On a rainy spring day this fox kit peeked out from beneath my shed just long enough to alert me to its presence. I captured this photo within seconds of seeing these ears emerge. This is first time in several years foxes have found a winter home beneath my shed. My halfhearted attempt to barricade the entrance with stones has been proven futile, as once again nature triumphs over man.
