My Backyard

One morning recently on a sunrise hike, we had the treat of seeing a few foxes. This young Red Fox had a case of the zoomies. At one point she came trotting over the rise of the hill and there we were, she stopped and watched us from about 30 feet away and then "zoomed" on up the hill and back down close to where we were again. Such a beautiful animal.

Unfortunately, she seems to have lost her fear of humans due to the area they live and the probability that people are feeding them. Please do not feed wildlife, for their health and safety!

I think the kits are about ready to leave Mom and think she's ready for them to LEAVE too!!!!

Petite visite aux renards roux dans une belle lumière de fin de journée. Le mâle de cette famille est très présent. Il est facilement reconnaissable avec sa cataracte à l’oeil droit et ses pattes noires, contrairement à la femelle dont les pattes avant sont blanches. Les petits m’ont l’air en santé pour l’instant. Longue vie à eux tous ♥️

If I stand by the edge of the woods and look long enough, I'm usually able to find the fox hidden away in the landscape.

I just couldn't forget this little fox. He showed up almost everyday while I was in PEI, and chased me, whenever I stopped, he stopped, staring at me, with so much cuteness and passion. I thereafter got to know the local people actually fed them quite often, no wonder he chased me, but still super lovely.
