Mixed series of four. A little walk around what was my lockdown field locally. Saw the back end of a fox and missed the shot, but luckily it carried on ahead of me and then turned back just long enough for a quick pic.

Sifting through older images I came across this fox from last February. I really liked the pose and his focused gaze. This was a close encounter and is not cropped.

A fox kit entertains itself with a stick at the den entrance. They are quire playful when they are not sleeping. But it takes some patience to catch them outside the den.

A red fox looking for a drink. The pond has 2-3 inches of ice, but there are little pockets of water in the mucky margins.

This must be a difficult time of year for the wild things to get a drink, with ponds frozen but no snow.

One from last year, I could count the number of sightings this year on one hand.

Eight kit foxes in total, a busy bunch to keep track of.

When there are siblings, no one can have anything without sharing. Such is the life of Fox kits.

Hungry mouths to feed, Male Fox out to look for food. San Pedro, California

A few years back I had a unique photographic experience. I came across 2 foxes that were running along the side of the road. They did not seem to mind my presence, and so I walked with them for about an hour, before they decided to split up and wonder down different trails in the park. I went with one of the foxes, and we walked down and back along a marsh trail for over an hour, he hunting for voles while I tried to capture the moments. During that hour he caught 14 voles (hungry fellow) and provided me with over 500 pictures during the 2 1/2 hours I spent in total with the two of them...

TIA for all comments.

It always seams like no matter how big a lens you lug around in the field.... you just never have enough focal length. This wouldn’t be the case with this full frame shot of this red fox. Captured this images as it walked within just a few feet of me.
